Homes from Our Heart Lexington: A Day Filled with Love, Gratitude, and Surprise!
In our world today, the element of surprise often feels lost. Our days are planned down to the minute, our news delivered instantly, and few moments truly catch us off guard. But every once in a while, something beautiful happens that reminds us how meaningful a genuine surprise can be.
That spirit filled the room on November 11 during our Homes from Our Hearts celebration at Crestwood Christian Church. It was an afternoon overflowing with love, appreciation, and heartfelt moments that reminded everyone present of the deep sense of community we share.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Enhancing Lives Award to LC and Connie Wolfe, cherished members of Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods. From the day they arrived two years ago, LC and Connie have embodied the warmth and compassion that make Bridgepointe feel like home.
LC served for many years as a pastor before becoming a social worker, and he is also the author of a beautifully written book on Christian apologetics. A talented artist, LC works in a variety of mediums, from watercolor to stencil art and last year, his design was selected as one of the winners of Christian Care Communitiesโ Annual Christmas Card Challenge. He continues to enrich community life by preaching in the chapel on the first Sunday of each month, leading a Bible study group, and hosting painting classes for fellow residents.
Connie, a retired teacher and gifted pianist, shares her musical talents by leading joyful gospel sing-alongs that bring residents together in harmony and fellowship. Together, the Wolfes truly represent the compassionate and welcoming spirit of Bridgepointe.
But the surprises didnโt end there. Another special moment came when Bridgepointe resident Lucille Petit learned that her artwork had been chosen as the official 2025 Christian Care Communities Christmas card design. Born and raised in Lexington, Lucille shared her joy and gratitude for her life at Bridgepointe, describing it as a โfun and relaxed environmentโ filled with friendship and creativity. Surrounded by her family, Lucille was overjoyed by the announcement, her face lighting up with pure delight.
It was a day of unexpected blessings, heartfelt recognition, and community connection. A reminder that while the world may move fast, moments of surprise and love still have the power to bring us together in the most meaningful ways the Faith, Care, Family in action!
