It’s almost Halloween and to celebrate our Health Center residents took a scenic drive through Hillcrest Avenue to see all of the impressively elaborate Halloween displays. Last night we held the first ever Willows at Springhurst Trick-R-Treat Party and it was a smashing success! There were giant Halloween characters, a friendly talking skeleton, dozens of kids in their Halloween best trick-r-treating with our residents, a costume contest, an employee pumpkin decorating contest, music, cookies, spooky yet tasty green punch, apple cider, tons of candy, and hundreds of smiles and laughs. We can’t wait to do it again next year! 🍬🍫🎃🧙‍♀️💀🦇🎵

It’s Captain’s Cruise Theme Week here at the Willows at Springhurst, and our Captains Dinner last night was a big hit!
Before things kicked off, our ship’s program director arranged for our residents to have a Musical Therapy session with Zach Palma followed by a special game of Bingo with the Captain himself! They also had the opportunity to craft souvenir life preserver ornaments.
As the main event for the night approached, the talented Rusty Vestor set the mood for dinner with some fantastic music as our residents enjoyed wine and cocktails. It was then that our ship’s Chef, Drew Hemmer, and his talented dining staff took everyone’s taste buds on a pleasure cruise. Dinner featured grilled filet mignon on a bed of asparagus and topped with shrimp skewers and a decadent lobster sauce and accompanied by loaded baked potatoes! Residents described their steaks as being grilled to perfection and so tender they didn’t need knives. Yum!
It was a cruise to remember! 🥩🛳️ 🌴🌊🦞🛟

It’s Captain’s Cruise Theme week here at the Willows at Springhurst and we’re celebrating all things nautical and fun! The halls are decorated in nautical chic and we’re having all the fun of a sea cruise without the sea sickness. Earlier this week we crafted rubber band boats and then held a rubber band boat regatta (Congratulations to Jeanette for taking home first place!) Residents also learned how to make Bahama Mama cocktails in our mixology class and then got to taste the refreshing fruits of their labor!

Up next is tonight’s Captain’s Diner, featuring “Surf and Turf” prepared by Chef Drew and his dedicated crew. We’ll then finish up the week with a Tropical Beach Getaway Happy Hour featuring coconut shrimp, more Bahama Mamas, and the Sass Trio! Stay tuned for more pics. 🛳️ 🌴🌊🦞🛟

Last week the Willows at Springhurst celebrated all things Oktoberfest! We made homemade pretzels during creative cooking and decorated German hats for arts and crafts. Our Paw Paws with Saws group assembled a cuckoo clock, a live German band played an evening concert, and our Friday Happy Hour featured pretzels, beer cheese, apple cider, and caramel apples. It was all wunderbar! 🥨🪗🎶🇩🇪

The Legacy Lane Life Just Keeps Getting Sweeter!
Our Legacy Lane staff, led by our Legacy Leader, Shay, has been doing a phenomenal job providing our memory care residents with love, support, purpose and joy every day. Their days are filled with daily rhythms and rituals, exercise, arts and crafts, fresh air, baking, and so much more. Now, in addition to all of that, we have added two fantastic weekly events to their routines! On Wednesdays residents now get to safely explore their surrounding neighborhoods with weekly outings. They may take a scenic drive or visit a local dessert spot (this week we visited Graeter’s for some delicious ice cream!) In addition to that, now every Thursday morning they have Musical Therapy with the incredible Zach Palma, board certified musical therapist. Zach keeps our residents smiling, engaged, and singing while helping them work on things like cognition and physical range of motion.

Earlier this month we celebrated the Golden 50th Wedding Anniversary of Suzanne & CJ with a special Happy Hour. Last week we held our 2nd Annual Willows County Fair, where the entire Willows at Springhurst Family came together to have fun and celebrate as a community. Residents and their families and employees and their families were all on hand to partake in amazing carnival food and ice cream provided by our hard working dietary team, lead by our brand new Director of Food Services Drew Hemmer. Residents from Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Health Care, and Legacy Lane Memory Care all competed for blue ribbons in our Exhibition Hall Art and baking contests. The Wandering Minstrels performed a concert in our back courtyard, creating the perfect party atmosphere. A bake sale to benefit The Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised almost $200! There was a beautiful trackless train from Inflatables that attendees rode around our large, scenic campus as well as carnival games, popcorn, lemonade shakeups, and much more. We also gave out the first ever Willows at Springhurst Blue Ribbon Employee Awards for Outstanding Customer Service to 10 well deserving employees that were nominated by resident family members. It was an afternoon to remember and just our way to say thanks to our amazing residents for choosing us as their home and to thank our employees for the outstanding jobs they do caring for our residents. We can’t wait for next year’s Willows County Fair! 🚂🎟️🎂🌭

Summer Wind Down Recap.

As Summer 2025 comes to a close, over the next few days we will be sharing several pics from the last few months. We continue our recap with some fantastic news… The Willows at Springhurst won Best Overall Campus in Kentuckiana during Trilogy Health Services’ Campus In Color competition!
Both our residents and our employees worked very hard to beautify our campus with vibrant, colorful plants, bountiful fruits and veggies, and a revamped goldfish pond. Please enjoy these pictures. Also, a special shoutout to Granville who planted his baby beef steak tomatoes in May and finally harvested and enjoyed a nice juicy tomato just last week! It’s been a wonderful, colorful summer!

As Summer 2025 comes to a close, over the next few days we will be sharing several pics from the last few months. We continue our recap as we focus on our weekly Happy Hours. This Summer we’ve lived it up Miami style with our Golden Girls Happy Hour. We’ve visited Vegas not once, but twice! We’ve celebrated Nashville, Hawaii, numerous birthdays, and we even held a talent show for residents and employees (Congratulations Jeanette and Michael on your wins)! Summer Wind Down Recap.
Okay. We admit it. We have been so incredibly busy doing so many fun and exciting things with our residents the past few months that we haven’t had time to post all the pictures to social media.
So as Summer 2025 comes to a close, over the next few days we will be sharing several pics from the last few months.
First up, back in July our friends at paid us a visit. Thanks to them, our residents were able to get up close and personal with some friendly adolescent goats! As far as summer days go, it was the G.O.A.T! 🐐🙂☀️
