We are proud to introduce our brand new Mindful Moments Hub! 🌿 Open 24/7 to our Health Center residents and their guests, this unique space is part sensory room and part miniature private theater. With comfy seating and smart tech, the MMH is perfect for relaxation and reflection because it adapts to the needs and wants of the resident using it. A resident can enjoy a relaxing video of a babbling brook projected on the wall (equal to the size of an 84” TV) while experiencing some aroma therapy. Perhaps they will ask Alexa to play Sinatra’s greatest hits while they admire the hand painted willow tree mural. Maybe they will check to see if any birds are helping themselves to the feeder outside the window. Or maybe they’ll take in a ball game, if that is how they find their Zen. Our Assisted Living residents had a wonderful outing to Smithfield, KY, enjoying a delicious lunch at Our Best Restaurant! 🍽️ From their famous lacy cornbread with apple butter to fried chicken, pork chops, bean soup, and flaky white cod—everything was fantastic! We can’t wait to return for another flavorful meal soon! 🥗🍗

Our second annual Easter Brunch and Family Egg Hunt was a hit! 🥚🍽️ Kids found plenty of eggs and everyone enjoyed delicious food and happy moments. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it memorable. We’re already looking forward to next year’s celebration! 🎉

Lego Bricks aren’t just for kids these days! “Adult Fans of Lego” are officially a thing.

Here at the Willows at Springhurst, we’re always on the lookout for new, fun ways to get our male residents engaged, and we believe we have found something that fits the bill perfectly. Inspired by the love of Lego building shared by our resident, Ronald, and our Life Enrichment Director, Matt, we have begun the “Grown Men Lego Club.” The club meets every Friday morning to work on a Lego project. The club’s first build was the 693 piece McLaren MP4/4 F1 race car set and just today we began the new 1060 piece Ford Model T set.

Building LEGO sets can be a surprisingly rewarding hobby for older adults. Beyond the fun of creating something with your hands, it offers real benefits for the mind and body. We recently celebrated our first of four elevated Elegant Dinners planned for this year. The 2026 Winter Gala ✨❄️🕯️was a frosty evening of elegance and warmth with soft piano music provided by Zach Palma, twinkling lights, residents and staff dressed to the nines, and a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Drew and his Culinary Team. Last month we held a special Christmas Open House and Holiday Tour event for our Independent Patio Home Residents. The event kicked off at our newly renovated Clubhouse with appetizers and a Hot Chocolate bar (complete with the finest Kentucky Bourbon) and wonderful songs sung by our volunteer Christmas Carolers. We then walked door to door to tour the homes of our participating residents were they opened their doors to everyone and showed us their gorgeous holiday decor! Our talented carolers also tagged along and sang in each of the six homes, which made for a magical experience. It was a truly heartwarming evening that helped everyone get in the holiday spirit. It’s beginning to look A LOT like Christmas here at the Willows at Springhurst! Thanks to our employees and our residents, we are all ready to celebrate the holiday season. Last week we held a couple of tree trimming parties, complete with classic Christmas songs, hot cocoa with marshmallows, and even some freshly fallen snow. It was a great way to start December. ❄️🎄
