During the holidays, we hear a lot about giving but often we forget the meaning behind it. Meet two of our LHCG Home Health Nurses, Chelsea, a mother of 2 who was recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and Sam, her coworker who exemplifies the meaning of giving.
Chelsea's journey began with a health scare last fall when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, which meant the possibility of dialysis or the need for a living donor. The path seemed daunting, especially for the young wife and mother of two toddlers.
Sam saw Chelsea's heartfelt plea for a donor on social media and knew in her heart that she could make a difference. It didn’t take long before she decided to become Chelsea's living kidney donor. A match was made, and their surgeries took place earlier this month.
"Honestly, I believe it's a calling in my life to be a giver", said Sam. Her kindness and selflessness brought Chelsea a renewed sense of hope and purpose. “Sam is a real-life angel and there are truly no words to describe how thankful I am for her!”, Chelsea shared.
The incredible generosity of Sam exemplifies the LHCG team mission – helping more people.
Join us in celebrating Sam and Chelsea and the power of selfless giving.
