When someone thinks or mentions the idea of ending their own life, the
first priority is guaranteeing their safety because every person is needed in
this world, and su***de is not the answer to emotional distress and crisis.
Contact your national or local su***de prevention hotline immediately if
you or someone you know is in emergency danger.

How to offer support - thanks to

Utilizing proper mental health resources and services in an efficient
manner can lead to effective care and treatment, but nobody can do it
alone. Join the outreach and offer support to individuals suffering from
suicidal thoughts and behaviors by actively listening, acting seriously and
with persistence, and reassure someone that you are there to help them.
Your care and concern are what could save a person’s life.

Stigma Free Community Resources and Events in Louisville, KY

was initiated in 2018 and is a collaborative effort of local therapists and mental health non-profits to connect Louisvillians to the wide range of mental health resources in our community.

Our goal is to increase access to mental health care, build community and decrease stigma.

Each year during the month of May, we promote currently existing events, groups and workshops on our "Mental Health Month" calendar and coordinate special events for the public at little to no-cost.
