We joined Great Day Live on January 12 for our first live TV interview.

It was our first time doing a live broadcast, so we were a bit nervous, but it was a meaningful moment to share Korean tea culture and the stories we continue to build with our Louisville local community.

The interview was short, but we brought Korean teas, local teas, teaware, and Korean objects to reflect the calm, intentional tea culture we value at KIWA, and the care behind the people we work with. While there wasn’t time to share everything, we hope a bit of the work and dedication of our staff, local partners, and community came through.

The focus was mostly on matcha, but we were glad to also mention the Gopulcha workshop, Jaksal tea, and our collaboration with the Louisville Free Public Library. It felt like a small but meaningful step forward.

As always, we’re grateful to our staff and community who continue to support and grow KIWA with us.

The full interview is available on the WHAS11 website or their official YouTube channel.

Jaksalcha(잭살차) is a traditional local blended tea from Hadong, South Korea.
Its name comes from Jakseol, meaning sparrow’s tongue,
softened into Jaksal through the southern dialect.
Traditionally enjoyed with ingredients gathered around the tea fields, shaped by place and everyday life.
Slow and quietly but tangy layered.
Enjoy Jaksal tea at KIWA.

Are you enjoying the holiday season?

We only have a few days left before we close for the year.
If you think you will miss KIWA matcha during the holidays, do not walk. Run to KIWA.

KIWA will be closed for winter break from 12/24 to 1/1.

Missing us already? Join us on 12/28 for a one day mini sparkling market with local vendors, “Beautiful Shimmering Things”.

That day, we will only be serving rich traditional hot chocolate made with real Ghirardelli chocolate, Valrhona cocoa powder, and heavy cream, and non alcoholic mulled wine.

Happy holidays, and see you soon.

Hey guys! It's Sooyoung from Kiwa. We got hit with 4 inches of snow last night, and travel is looking pretty rough. We're making the call to close today since the streets and parking lot are still covered in snow. Don't want anyone getting into trouble! If you're planning to come by tomorrow, we're all set to warm you up with our specialty teas, lattes, and hot chocolates made with Valhona powder - rich, deep flavors for the adults (but kiddos love them too!). Stay safe, stay warm, and we'll catch up tomorrow!
