I truly can’t believe we are here already at the end of another year! This year was more than I ever thought it would be in both the best and most challenging ways, as dreams were realized and I pushed myself to my limit.

This post was so fun to put together as I reflected back on what I can now say will be the busiest baby year I will ever choose to have! EVER.👏🏻 I always wanted to know my capacity and push myself and this year I did just that in more ways than I can count.

I cried, laughed, danced, mourned, and celebrated alongside so many families and these memories will be ones I hold close for the rest of my life.

What a gift each one of these births was and what amazing strength I got to witness in each one of these mamas!

Yes, these are birth statistics but each one tells a life-changing story and I am honored that I got to play a small part in each one of these beautiful births.🤍

I see you mama,

In the final weeks of your pregnancy anxiously awaiting the start of your labor and the birth of your baby.🤰🏻

I see you overthinking, wondering if you will be ready when the surges begin, feeling unsure..

Know that you ARE capable of birthing your baby, that you have everything you need within you to bring your baby into the world, that you and your baby are a team!

You are never alone.🤱🏻

🌟 Believe it, mama! 🌟

Having a beautiful birth is not just a dream, it’s a reality waiting to be embraced.

Birth is the BIGGEST mental game and if you don’t believe in yourself and your ability to make decisions, someone else is going to make them for you.🗣️

When that happens, you find yourself feeling 10 steps behind instead of two steps ahead, as the one calling the shots.

Believing in yourself and your birthing abilities is NOT OPTIONAL, it’s a MUST.👏🏻

Trust in your incredible strength and unwavering determination to bring life into this world.💪🏼

Baby Amelia’s Birth | July 2023

Client Love: “Maddie was everything I didn’t know I needed in my birth space. My husband and I decided to hire Maddie when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My first birth wasn’t necessarily a negative experience, but there was a lot that ended up being out of my control and I knew that I wanted my second birth to go a lot differently. Maddie almost ended up being out of town for my birth (so glad baby Mia waited a few days!) but even the education I received during the prenatal visits would’ve been worth the money if she wouldn’t have made it to the birth. However, I’m beyond grateful that we had Maddie there with us. Her calm and positive demeanor was exactly what I needed in my birth space. And although I didn’t get the pleasure of having her for very long ( #2 came very quickly!) I know that I wouldn’t have been able to have the birth I was hoping for without her. Eternally grateful to Maddie for all she did to support me during this special time!”

Doula Reflection: Let me tell you all about Katie! From the moment Katie and I met, I knew she would become a dear friend and that she was going to absolutely crush her birth. Well, sure enough, she did just that! When I tell you that I have never seen anyone prepare as much mentally and physically before their baby arrived, I mean it. On the morning leading up to little Amelia very quickly coming into the world, Katie went to the chiropractor and acupuncturist before heading to the hospital in full-blown labor like the mom boss she is! From a labor scare, while I was out of town 😅, to a very swift labor, little Amelia kept us on the edge of our seats the whole way. Katie, it was such an honor to support you and Spencer and quite literally hold you as you labored to bring Amelia into the world. This birth is one I won’t ever forget and this sweet family will forever hold a very special place in my heart.💗

Hey all you new parents out there, let’s get real for a second.🤔

Yes, you love your little bundle of joy more than words can express, but let’s be honest, the newborn stage can be tough. The sleepless nights, the constant crying, the endless diaper changes... it’s enough to make any parent feel overwhelmed.

But here’s the thing, it’s okay to not enjoy this stage. It doesn’t make you a bad parent, it makes you human.

So to all the tired and exhausted parents out there, just remember, it’s okay to not love every single moment of parenthood.

Just know that it does get better and your love for your child will only continue to grow.🤍

It’s so easy to get consumed with fear and anxiety leading up to the birth of your baby when all you focus on are the ‘what if’s.⁉️

“What if everything goes wrong?”
“What if xyz happens to me or baby?”
“What if my birth ends up like so-and-so’s traumatic birth experience?”

See? It’s so easy to spiral when we don’t know how our birth will play out. That’s where fear thrives in birth - in the not knowing.

When you are in a continual state of fear over all the things that could go wrong, you miss the chance to shift your mindset and wonder instead..

“What if instead, everything goes beautifully..”

Choose to enter your birth with excitement rather than fear and tune out all the fears swirling around inside your head.🫶🏻

HAPPY NEW YEAR | Goodbye 2023, Hello 2024!✨

This year, I look forward to supporting many more amazing mothers and continuing to walk alongside families as they welcome their little ones into the world!

Every day that the Lord allows me to continue to do this work, I will repeat Psalm 23 to myself. “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..”. He has provided for me in ways I never imagined possible and certainly don’t deserve, and yet He remains faithful. I am very excited and hopeful for this next year!☺️
