Share your Wear Blue Day outfit below! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Today, our team, along with the community, wore blue for child abuse prevention awareness.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, where organizations throughout the country will share resources and info on the importance of safe, stable, and nurturing environments for our children.

Join us in thanking students from the UofL School of Dentistry for holding an event for our youth!

Teens in our Residential Treatment and Emergency Shelter (RTES) program took part in activities like trivia, carving teeth models from soap, and hands on learning about proper dental hygiene.

This is one of the many activities and programs we provide to support our youth with life skills to help them succeed in the future.

Show Demetra some love ๐ŸŽ‰

Today, we recognize Demetra C., Family Consultant in our Foster Care and Adoption program. Demetra demonstrates courageous advocacy.

"The best thing about working in foster care is seeing kids grow, feel safe and realize that they matter- even if you're only a small part of their journey."

In a challenging foster home situation, she remained grounded in our Sanctuary commitments and prioritized the well-being of the youth in her care.

One youth shared, โ€œI couldnโ€™t have asked for a better workerโ€ฆyou inspire others.โ€

This is the kind of impact that defines our mission.

Each month, we celebrate team members with a Core Award for their demonstration of our core values:

Recently, we went on a field trip with Halley, Kyree, Lilliana, and more!

The youth had a blast looking at fish and taxidermy, and shopping for clothes at Bass Pro Shops.

We also picked up some fishing equipment for upcoming activities... so stay tuned to see what fun we have in store! ๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸŽฃ

Show Cristi some love! ๐Ÿ’ž

Today, we recognize Cristi D., Physical Therapy Assistant in our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC).

Cristi has served the Home for 23 years. Beyond her clinical excellence, she strengthens our cultureโ€”training teammates after hours, celebrating colleagues, and welcoming new staff with warmth and encouragement.

She models compassion and teamwork in action.

"What I like most about working for the Home is collaborating with my fellow therapists, so that we can provide a comprehensive approach to therapy, giving our youth the best chance to make progress and meet milestones in a therapeutic environment.

That could be by co-treating, group therapy sessions, or having meetings to discuss what has been working and what hasn't. The bottom line has and will always be 'THE KIDS!'"

Join us in celebrating! ๐ŸŽ‰

We recently had a class graduate from their six-week training course in preparation for becoming foster parents!

The training covers trauma-informed parenting techniques, what to expect when fostering, and the paperwork and logistics required.

Now they are best equipped to provide a stable, supportive environment for our youth to heal and grow. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ
