I recently received a text message from a patient who shared part of a conversation between her and her daughter. I have to say, I absolutely love receiving messages like this. ❤️🙏🏼Hearing about the wins along someone’s journey toward better health and mobility is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
-
What made this one extra meaningful is that it gave me a small snapshot into how she truly feels about her progress and what she’s sharing with the people closest to her. 💕
-
In the text, she referred to the work we do together as the “easy button.” I had to smile when I read that. While I can’t always say the process itself is easy—because does require an active and engaged approach—it can certainly feel easier when the effort is directed in the right place.
-
When we focus on addressing the cause of an issue rather than just chasing symptoms, the path forward tends to be much more efficient and effective.💪
-
Thank you to this patient for sharing a piece of her journey and celebrating a win along the way. 🙌
-
And to all of our patients—please continue to reach out not only with your struggles, but also with your wins. Those moments deserve to be shared and celebrated. 🎉

Tip #4 for Performing Your Techniques:
Perform your techniques when it works for you and your day.
-
Just like any habit or lifestyle routine, success often comes from reducing the resistance to doing the thing. If you can fit your techniques into a time that naturally works in your daily rhythm, you’re much more likely to stay consistent.
-
There may be specific timing recommendations based on your symptoms, your life, and your goals, so be sure to listen to your practitioner’s guidance when that applies.
-
But ultimately, most of us would agree:getting them done RIGHT at some point in your day, is far better than not doing them, or rushing through them.

Tip #3 for Performing Your (PRI) Techniques: Go Slow and Focus on Your Breathing
-
Breathing is a key part of every PRI technique. How you breathe is just as important as how you set up the exercise.
-
As you perform your technique, slow down and pay attention to your breath:• Your exhale should be about twice as long as your inhale• Your inhale should be quiet and gentle
-
Notice where you feel the breath move in your body. The way you breathe helps influence where the air goes and which areas of your body can expand.
-
For many of us, slowing down takes conscious effort, and that’s completely okay. The goal isn’t to rush through the exercise—it’s to help your body sense, adapt, and learn a new pattern.
Take your time, stay curious about what you feel, and let your breathing guide the process.

One of the most frustrating answers someone can hear from a provider is a simple “yes.”
-
In my office, I often hear patients describe the many providers they’ve seen and the different explanations they’ve been given for their symptoms:

“This one thinks it’s my psoas.”
“This one thinks it’s my OA.”
“This one thinks it’s my bite.”
“This one thinks it’s my hip.”
-
So when they ask what I think… my answer is often yes.
But I don’t leave it there.
-
At Untapped, our practitioners work to connect the dots and help people understand how those pieces relate to what they’re experiencing.
-
The information is helpful, but more importantly it gives us direction—so we can address all of the contributing factors, not just one.
-
Because real progress usually comes from understanding the pattern, not chasing isolated symptoms.

Tip #2 for Performing Your Postural Restoration Techniques: Go Step-by-Step
-
Just like we do during your treatment sessions, take your techniques one step at a time.
-
Start with the first step or two and pause to check in with yourself. What do you sense? How do you feel? What changes do you notice?
-
If what you’re sensing matches the intended outcome, continue to the next step. If it doesn’t, pause, reset, and try againbefore moving forward.
-
Remember:
👍slow is better.
💪As you add new pieces, make sure the previous steps are still maintained. Building the technique gradually helps your brain learn something new.

🎥 PRI Technique Tips – Video Series (Tip #1)
-
This is the first video in a series where I’ll be sharing helpful recommendations to improve your success with your home PRI techniques.
-
✨ Tip #1: Record Yourself Reading the Instructions
Take out your phone and create a voice recording or video of yourself reading the technique instructions step-by-step. As you record, be intentional about adding pauses between each step. Those pauses give you time to:
• Get fully into position
• Breathe
• Notice what you’re sensing
• Make subtle adjustments
-
This way, you don’t have to look back and forth at the paper while trying to perform the technique. You can stay focused, present, and aware of what your body is doing.
Stay tuned for more tips to help you get the most out of your home techniques! 💪

Heading into Monday feeling grateful and blessed. 🙏🏼
-
Thank you to this patient for the update—these messages are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
-
This isn’t a trend or a new technique. It’s whole-body care, interconnected systems, and honoring the brain as the driver—tailored to the individual.
This is .
-
Looking forward to another week of changing lives, knowing each person leaves a meaningful imprint with us. 💪

✨ The key to more efficiency and effectiveness in rehab and performance programs isn’t just knowing about PRI… 😲
-It’s about truly understanding — applying the functional tests and using those objective results to guide your treatment and training decisions.
I often say, “the tests don’t lie!”
-✅ Whether it’s choosing the right footwear for a patient✅ Deciding if we need more focus on managing the pelvic inlet and outlet in sidelying✅ Or recognizing when it’s time to progress upright based on higher test scores
Just to name a few…— the answers are in the testing!
-
If you’re a practitioner, keep diving deeper:📘 Take more courses📖 Reference your manuals💬 Ask questions when the dots don’t connect
-
And if you’re someone who’s familiar with and want guidance with a program directed by objective testing, visit posturalrestoration.com and explore the “Find a Provider” page.

✨ Today I received one of the best pieces of feedback I’ve ever gotten in all my years of practice.
-
A patient shared that at the end of her last visit, she became emotional — and she connected that emotion to the addition of voice box concepts we incorporated that day. She told me that what she was really feeling was “cared for.” 💛
-
I’ve had the privilege of working with her for several years, sometimes monthly, sometimes quarterly — and this was the first time she felt moved to express that.
-
During her last session, we added techniques such as:
💨 Humming during exhale
🗣️ Speaking out loud while performing movements and answering questions
-
One of the PRI techniques used is demonstrated in the video above: supine hooklying supported left hamstring with overhead support.
-
The outcomes were powerful — she gained:
* new sense of vibration and resonance
* improved abduction of her vocal cords
* Lowering of her larynx
* gentle disorientation from her usual cervical positioning
* a stronger sense of self.
-
Moments like this remind me why I love this work — the integration of science, sound, and genuine human connection. 🌿

Day 2 Livestream: Postural Respiration
-
Having fun practicing techniques that integrate Pelvis and Myokinematic concepts to achieve key outcomes, including:
-
✨ Reorienting the rib cage and sternum
✨ Increasing right apical expansion
✨ Increasing left posterior mediastinum expansion
-
Big thank you to Craig Depperschmidt for his bullet points and highlights.

Learning and laughing through science! 🫁✨
Spending the weekend taking the Postural Respiration course with a great group of clinicians hungry to learn and apply this powerful science.
-
We had a blast this morning doing the “diaphragm dance” led by Craig — complete with counting potatoes 🥔 and managing our internal shopping carts 🛒.
I love the perspective and stories Craig brings to help us appreciate the beautiful asymmetries of the diaphragm and breathing patterns.
-
Can’t wait for day two! 🙌
