Magnus is an 8-year-old with a love for adventure! A daring tree climb led to a fall, sending him to Norton Children’s Hospital for emergency surgery. Thanks to quick action from our team, led by Anthony L. Silverio, M.D., with Norton Children’s Orthopedics of Louisville, Magnus's arm is on the mend, and he’s focused on returning to the football field. 🌳🏈

A grateful parent recently reached out to share just how incredible Alicia Siedl, APRN, is at Norton Children’s Medical Group - Germantown. From providing expert care to advocating for families with complex needs, she goes above and beyond every day. 💙

Kali, one of our brave patients, had an unforgettable day watching the U.S. Women's National Team practice last week before their match against Argentina. The best part? Meeting the stars themselves! 🌟 She received a personalized jersey from the team, chatted with them and then got their autographs that she’s sure to treasure! 💪💙

Kali, who receives care from Norton Children’s Cancer Institute for sickle cell disease, says she is considering what sport she wants to play. Here’s to our inspiring patient and the players who reminded us all why we love the beautiful game!

Julie Bell joined Norton Healthcare in 1989 as a nursing student. Once she completed her degree in 1990, she moved into a nursing position in the medical/surgical unit and has been there ever since — 35 years to be precise! Julie works with patients experiencing seizures, diabetes and respiratory issues. She has seen a lot of positive changes over the years, including implementation of new and better safety measures. Julie says she chose to work at Norton Children’s because it’s something she feels called to do. She said she was “pediatric through and through” when she started and that hasn’t changed!

🏈🌟 There was a standing ovation for 3-year-old Liam, our Norton Children’s Superhero of the WKU Football Game! 🌟🏈

Liam, from Bowling Green, has come a long way since his early days in the NICU at Norton Children’s Hospital, where he received life-saving care for a heart condition called tachycardia. After a year of medication and close monitoring, Liam is now thriving—medication-free, enjoying baseball, soccer, and his love for animals! 🐾⚾️⚽️

Joining him during this special halftime moment were students from Dance Big Red, WKU’s incredible student-led dance marathon that has raised nearly $700,000 for Norton Children’s since 2015! 👏💙 Visit DanceBigRed.com to support kids like Liam by registering as a dancer or donating!

For Carter Richardson, born at just 28 weeks, music therapy has been life-changing. After spending 100 days in the NICU, Carter and his mom Megan turned to music therapy with Alex Ruffner, M.S., MT-BC, NICU-MT, a board-certified music therapist. Today, 15-month-old Carter lights up for Ms. Alex and thrives thanks to these sessions, where parents and babies bond through music and developmental support.

Join us in congratulating Donna M. Herndon-Ndir, information desk attendant, Norton Children’s Hospital, for 40 years of service!

Donna Herndon-Ndir started her career in the dietary department at Norton Hospital. She began moving positions after a she got her foot in the door, taking a role as a unit secretary. Eventually the unit secretary role merged with registration and Donna rolled with the changes. She remembers being part of the team that moved Children’s Hospital from its third floor location at Norton Hospital to the current building today.

Donna says she enjoys her job, loves the people she works with and, most importantly, loves the children at the hospital. Thank you for 40 wonderful years, Donna!

🎉 Heartwarming NICU Reunion at the Home & BMW Raffle Sell-A-Thon!❤️

We witnessed a beautiful reunion between some of the incredible team members of the Norton Children’s Hospital NICU and one of our former patients, Ivy-Jaymes. The moment they spotted Ivy-Jaymes on WAVE, the nurses rushed over after their shift to greet her and her family. You might remember Ivy-Jaymes from photos of her Barbie costume last year!
