Great way to get involved in service and activism at a local level!

Hello,

My name is Nicole Robertson, and I am the Associate Director of the Training and Leadership Committee under the Engage Lead Serve Board. We are in the process of planning the Engage Kentucky Symposium, which is an event that will take place in March at the University of Louisville. This symposium will promote social justice and civic service for both college and high school students in Kentucky.

The Engage Kentucky Symposium consists of leadership development, workshops, keynote speakers, an engagement fair, lunch, and more. Because this is a big event that will bring students from around Kentucky we will need help and input from you. Therefore, we are looking for driven students to join our ad-hoc committee to help plan and put on the Engage Kentucky Symposium. Joining our committee would be a great way to begin getting involved with ELSB and at the University of Louisville.

If you are interested in joining our committee and planning the Engage Kentucky Symposium or have any questions please e-mail me at leadershipassociate@uoflelsb.org or nmrobe02@louisville.edu.

Thanks,
Nicole Robertson

HELP WANTED! Women for Habitat, a Committee of Habitat for Humanity Metro Louisville, is a volunteer group that raises sponsorship funds and recruits women volunteers to build a Habitat home in our community each year. This year we started our SWEET SIXTEEN home June 6-9th!
In keeping with our Habitat mission of BUILDING community, we decided to BUILD a bookcase for each new Habitat Partner Family!
Now we need a partner to underwrite the cost of bookcase materials, roughly $50 each, $650 for the first 13 that will provide “seed money” for the next batch. Our goal is to reach each and every Habitat homeowner!
Any questions or suggestions, contact Dee Allen, 2012 Volunteer Chair, Women for Habitat Committee, Habitat for Humanity Metro Louisville at deeallen55@yahoo.com or 574-3576 direct work line/742-3007 evenings/377-1614 cell. http://www.hfhlouisville.org/GetInvolved/WomenforHabitat.aspx
