"In Belize, those with Colonial mentality like to say that we the Maya are indigenous but not indigenous to Belize , forgetting that Belize ,Guatemala, part of Mexico, part of El Salvador, part of Honduras was created inside Maya land . They created borders, divided the land ,made treaties ,gave us nationalities without asking the natives and then they want to call us immigrants in our own land . They will come with all kind of excuses to justify colonialism... Every time we speak our language or learn to speak Maya , practice our tradition,practice our Maya spirituality ,speak of our history, and say we are Maya ,To'one' Maaya'on, we are resisting ,Kux'ano'on!!! ...
