We’re excited to welcome Zorre “Z” Kimura to the clinic as our new Physical Therapist!
Z provides comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and focuses on practical, individualized exercise programs that patients can continue at home or in the gym.
He is passionate about helping patients manage pain, improve balance, and regain confidence in their movement so they can return to the activities they enjoy.
Z chose to join FCC because of a meaningful connection to our community. While helping run the student PT clinic at Bellarmine University, he had the opportunity to work with FCC patients and saw firsthand the impact our clinic makes. He knew he wanted to bring expanded physical therapy services to FCC and continue serving this population.
He has already expressed how much he enjoys working alongside FCC’s dedicated staff and appreciates the invaluable support of our interpreters. Z is also looking forward to improving his Spanish while serving our diverse patient community.
Through Z’s leadership, the clinic will host a free bike giveaway for kids this April — an exciting initiative to promote health, activity, and community engagement.
Outside of FCC, Z enjoys landscaping, racing sailboats, and spending time with his family. He is currently pursuing a degree in sports psychology and hopes to help athletes and patients alike build confidence, strengthen performance, and achieve their personal goals.
We are thrilled to have Z on our team and look forward to the energy, expertise, and heart he brings to FCC!

We’re thrilled to share that Dr. Ransdell (FCC board member) and Dr. Jacobi have been named 2026 Louisville Business First Healthcare Heroes! This recognition honors medical and dental professionals who are making a meaningful impact in our community and we are so proud of our partners at the Free Smiles Clinic. Their dedication to serving underserved patients and mentoring pre-dental and dental students truly embodies the spirit of this award. In true humble fashion, Dr. Jacobi shared: “Dr. Randy and I accept this award for all the ‘Heroes’ who have volunteered every month for the past ten years, bringing critical dental care to the underserved in our community. We all have to try to help each other. It is just the right thing to do.” Please join us in congratulating Drs. Ransdell and Jacobi on this well-deserved honor. We are grateful for their leadership, their hearts for service, and the example they set for us all!

Meet Helen Xin

Helen has been volunteering at FCC since August 2025 as a medical scribe, where she plays an important role in supporting physicians by accurately documenting patient encounters, medical histories, and clinical findings. She was drawn to FCC because of its mission to serve the uninsured, a cause she feels strongly about. She believes that access to healthcare should not be determined by background or financial status, and FCC’s commitment to providing compassionate care aligns closely with her own values. What Helen enjoys most about her time at FCC is the opportunity to learn something new every day. Each clinic session brings a different set of patients, conditions, and experiences, creating a dynamic environment where teaching moments are constant. Through observing providers and working alongside fellow volunteers, she continues to deepen her understanding of medicine while developing valuable clinical and communication skills. Just as meaningful to her is the sense of community at FCC, where she has built strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and patients alike.
Helen finds the work especially rewarding knowing that her contributions help patients leave the clinic feeling more informed, supported, and confident about their health. Being part of a team that makes a tangible difference in patients’ lives has reinforced her passion for service and healthcare. Outside of FCC, she enjoys spending time baking a variety of pastries, studying in coffee shops, and going on walks. These activities give her a chance to recharge, reflect, and maintain balance while continuing to pursue her interests inside and outside of the clinic.

Meet Haider!

Haider has been a volunteer scribe at FCC for about four months. He chose to volunteer at FCC as a way to give back to the community while gaining experience in his field of interest.
He deeply values FCC and the opportunities it provides. He enjoys the variety of people he meets, whether it's the doctors and practitioners he scribes for, the interpreters, the medical staff, or the patients. Each person brings a unique story and background, and there is always something to learn from everyone he encounters. Outside of FCC, Haider enjoys playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports.
