Whether you're exploring off-campus or enjoying the on-campus amenities, there's always fun to be had!

This week, the ladies had a blast dining at Lou Lou on Market followed by a shopping spree at Six Sisters Boutique. Meanwhile, the guys kept it close to home with an outing to Crave Cafe & Catering, wrapping it up with some friendly competition over billiards. 🎱

Life at Masonic Homes Kentucky is the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

Lifelong friends takes on a different meaning for Meadow Active Lifestyle Community residents Betty Brown and Powell Taylor. They attended the same school from kindergarten through most of high school, lost contact, and were surprised to learn they lived at the same retirement community. ☺️

“We attended the same school from kindergarten, middle school and most of high school until Betty moved away,” said Powell. “My wife and I were snowbirds and Betty moved into Meadow while we were in Florida. We came back and as soon as I saw her, I knew who she was immediately.”

Betty was just as surprised. “It was nice to see a familiar face, and Powell doesn't look much different," said Betty.

Now, they spend time talking about old acquaintances and reminiscing about growing up. Powell said, “It’s nice being able to revisit those moments with someone who remembers when I bring up sixth grade, and they immediately remember our teacher, Miss. Peck.”

They also share a running joke. “I like to tell her she’s the one resident who can’t hide her age from me,” laughed Powell.

In July 1936, Past Grand Master John L. Phillips conceived the idea to get a post office at Masonic Home. He went to Washington, DC at his own expense to do so. He became the first postmaster of the 4th class Post Office, as well as superintendent and served for 10 years. More than 80 years later, we still have a post office at Masonic Homes Kentucky's Louisville Campus that is used daily by residents, staff and the community.

This past Sunday, July 20, 2025, marked a meaningful milestone in the journey of the Clay Active Lifestyle Community — the official Cornerstone Laying Ceremony.

In keeping with the Freemasons' historic tradition as builders of cathedrals and public structures, the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, F.&A.M. Grand Line led the time-honored Masonic cornerstone ceremony, symbolizing strength, stability and a solid foundation for the future.

Clay Active Lifestyle Community will soon be home to six independent living residences, designed for vibrant, fulfilling senior living.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us to witness this special moment, including the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, F.&A.M, fellow Brothers, the Masonic Homes Kentucky Board of Directors, future Clay residents, current residents, our incredible staff, vendors, and all our friends and supporters.

Crescent Grove residents had the sweetest time reading to students from Sproutlings Pediatric Day Care & Preschool in a heartwarming reading circle today. 📚💖 We're honestly not sure who enjoyed it more—residents or the Sprouts!
