A powerful night celebrating peace, purpose, and legacy ✨🕊️

Our CEO, Dr. Swannie Jett, was honored Saturday evening with a Peace Award from Rev. Charles Elliott Jr., a civil rights pioneer who walked and worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The annual Rev. Charles Elliott Jr. Peace Awards recognize Rev. Elliott’s extraordinary legacy and uplift the unsung heroes working every day to build a better city for us all.

Dr. Jett was recognized in the Clinic/Non-Profit category, honoring his commitment to health equity, justice, and compassionate care for our community.

Thank you to the Jesus Movement and King Solomon Baptist Church for this incredible honor. We are proud to stand in a legacy of service that advances peace through action.

Last night, Park DuValle Community Health Centers was honored to attend The Community Awards Celebration, recognizing the five project teams selected through the A Healthier Path Forward Innovation Challenge. ✨

Through this powerful $1 million investment, community-driven solutions are taking bold steps to end childhood obesity in West Louisville. PDCHC is proud to integrate food access into pediatric care through our clinic-anchored Food Is Medicine model—featuring an on-site farmers market, instructional kitchen, nutrition education, and ongoing clinical monitoring to support children and families holistically.

Congratulations to Attane Health, EnVue Health, Inc., Feed Louisville, and Roots Mobile Market L.L.C. for advancing health equity for our youth.

Thank you to the Louisville Urban League, Inc., Render Capital, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for championing innovation that centers community voice and drives lasting impact.

Park DuValle Community Health Centers joins the nation in mourning the passing of Reverend Jesse Jackson, a tireless champion for civil rights, social justice, and health equity. Reverend Jackson dedicated his life to amplifying the voices of underserved communities and challenging systems that created barriers to opportunity, dignity, and care.

His work reminds us that healthcare is not just a service, but a fundamental human right. We see the direct impact of the movement he helped lead, expanding access, advocating for equity, and ensuring that every person, regardless of zip code, income, or background, receives compassionate and quality care.

We honor Reverend Jackson’s legacy by continuing the work: standing boldly for justice, empowering our community, and advancing health equity for everybody, everywhere.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and all those who were inspired by his leadership. His voice may be silent, but his impact will echo for generations to come.

In honor of Black History Month, we look back to where compassionate care in West Louisville truly began. On February 5, 1968, we saw our first pediatric patient in a temporary clinic set up in the basement of the Cotter-Lang Homes. What started in borrowed space became a lifelong commitment to bringing accessible, affordable care directly to our community. 💙

Pictured is Ms. Nettie Burton, a devoted pediatric provider who gave 36 years of service to Park DuValle. She was an excellent nurse, a trusted role model, and above all, a kind and loving presence for generations of families. She is deeply missed, but her legacy will forever remain a part of Park DuValle Community Health Centers.

From those humble beginnings to today, the mission remains the same: care built by the community, for the community.

💓 February is American Heart Month! 💓

Heart disease is still the #1 killer in the U.S., and it doesn’t affect everyone equally. According to 2025 data, African-American adults face significantly higher rates of high blood pressure and heart failure hospitalizations, and a disproportionate burden of cardiovascular risk.

This month (and every month), let’s commit to:
🥗 Eating more whole foods and less processed sugar & salt
🏃‍♂️ Moving our bodies daily
🚭 Avoiding to***co in all forms
🍷 Limiting alcohol to protect our hearts

Let’s make heart health a priority—together. ❤️
