After nine months of expansion and then a birth where your portal is as open as it will ever be, you may walk around feeling raw and exposed. Your organs are finding their original homes, your hormones are shifting more rapidly than at any other time in the human experience, and your tissues are knitting back together.

Here are a few important ways to support and honor your body in this tender and transformative period.

1. Prioritize Warmth: Prioritize warm foods, warm drinks, and literally keeping your body warm (especially your lower back and feet) to support circulation and healing.
2. Bodywork as Medicine: This is the time for gentle, restorative touch. Consider a Reiki or Reflexology or in-home Pelvic Floor Assessment (after the initial healing phase) to help your nervous system move out of "survival mode" and back into your body.
3. The "Five-Five-Five" Rule: 5 days in the bed, 5 days on the bed, 5 days around the bed. Physical rest isn't "doing nothing" it is the active work of cellular repair.

Pregnancy loss carries a weight that is often invisible to the outside world, yet it settles deeply into the body, heart, and spirit. So often, we aren’t given the time or the permission to simply be with it.

To support women walking with loss, I am opening up a new low-cost, donation-based Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss Grief Support offering.

This space is for you if:
-You feel your loss hasn't been fully processed or witnessed.
-You are looking for a somatic (body-based) way to release and rebalance.
-You want a ritual to honor the soul that came through. From gentle womb massage to traditional postpartum rituals, every session is guided by what you need. Share your story, or sit in the silence, you are welcome exactly as you are.

Healing should be accessible, especially during our most tender times. If you are desiring support, let’s connect. Book your free discovery call via the link in my bio.

The rest you give your body in those first postpartum months pays you back for many years to come.

Sounds simple… but it’s not.
Resting can actually be really hard.

Maybe you have other littles who still need you.
Maybe you’re used to going, going, going. Which is what this society asks for.
Maybe that rush of adrenaline keeping your baby safe is also convincing you that you’re “fine.”
It takes intention. It takes planning. It takes support.

And you deserve that kind of care, too.

A 'No' in postpartum is a 'Yes' to your own healing.

We often feel the need to perform motherhood, to host the visitors, to answer the texts, to be 'up and at 'em' before our bodies are ready.

But 'No' is a sacred boundary.

No to the unhelpful visitor.
No to the unsolicited advice.
No to the pressure to 'bounce back.'

Setting boundaries isn't being 'difficult'; it’s being a guardian of your own peace. Who do you need to say a sacred 'no' to this week?"

To the partners, fathers, and non-birthing parents: your presence is the "container" in which healing happens.

In a conscious postpartum journey, your role goes far beyond diapers and coffee runs. You are the protector of the peace and the co-creator of a new family rhythm.

How to show up consciously today:
✨ Be the Gatekeeper: Manage the visitors and the phone calls so she doesn't have to.
✨ Hold the Space: Listen to her story of the birth or the day without trying to "fix" it. Just be there.
✨ Create Ritual: Start a simple daily habit, like a tech-free 20 minutes of skin-to-skin with the baby, to ground the whole family.

When a partner is empowered, the mother is free to heal. Tag a partner who is doing the beautiful, quiet work of holding the space 🤍

3 Questions to Ask Your Birth Team (Before Labor Starts) 🕊️

Intentional communication is the secret to a peaceful birth environment. Before you reach the "threshold," sit down with your partner, doula, or provider and ask these three soul-centered questions:

1️⃣ "What is our 'Reset' Plan?" If the energy in the room gets clinical, tense, or loud, what is our signal to dim the lights, put on the music, and bring the focus back to the mother's breath?

2️⃣ "How can you help me stay in my body?" When the intensity peaks, do you need physical touch (counter-pressure), verbal affirmations, or total silence? Tell your team now so they don't have to guess later.

3️⃣ "What does 'Support' look like for my partner?" Partners, you are the anchor! Doulas, you are the guide. Discuss how you will tag-team so that the mama feels fully supported.

The Goal: To enter the birthing space as a unified front, where everyone knows their role and honors the sacredness of the work being done.

Tag your birth bestie or partner below to start the conversation! 👇

The woman you were before you were a mother didn't disappear.

She is still there, beneath the layers of snacks and swaddles and sleeplessness. She is the one who loves poetry, the one who craves deep conversation, the one who feels the rhythm of the moon.

Motherhood is an addition to who you are, not a subtraction of who you were.

Our healing sessions and postpartum rituals can help you find her again. To bridge the gap between 'Mama' and 'Self.' Learn more: motherscompass.com/sacred-postpartum-care

The Power of the "Slow In" 🌿

We talk a lot about "going out" into the world after birth, but what about the "Slow In"?
The first six weeks of postpartum are a sacred window designed for inward movement. It’s a time to:

Inhabit your new body with kindness.

Integrate the powerful story of your birth.

Invite only those who nourish your spirit into your space.

If you feel the urge to stay in your "bubble," listen to it. That instinct is your compass, guiding you toward the rest and ritual you need to truly heal. You aren't "missing out" on the world; you are building a new one right there in your home.

If you are in need of extra support during this sacred window, explore our holistic postpartum doula services: motherscompass.com/sacred-postpartum-care
