Free acupuncture for veterans here in Louisville KY!

I didn’t think it would work…”
I’ll be honest—I didn’t think acupuncture could help me. I’ve lived with pain, anxiety, and sleepless nights since I got out.
Then I tried the free veterans clinic at Louisville Acupuncture Project.
One session in, I felt calmer. My back pain was better. I actually slept through the night.
If you’re skeptical like I was, that’s okay. Just come try it. It’s free, no pressure, no appointments. Just people who care.

Our front (anterior) body is woefully neglected. We live the majority of our lives flexed and bent forward, working in front of us, with the majority of our pains being felt in our back, upper shoulders and hips.

Our goal as a therapists is to work our way through the puzzle that is our human bodies, a system of opposition and balance with crazy nerve patterns.

More often that not, where we feel our pain is not where the source of the problem lives. Normally the place of pain is the victim in the situation being over stretched while the culprit lives in a steady contracted state. And to throw another wrench into it all, sometimes the two aren’t really related to each other at all it is all nerve referral pain from one place to another. 🙃🙃🙃

Regardless of where the pain comes from, it’s our job to know the body inside and out and to give a voice to your unique body and your unique pain to help bring you back into balance.

What's the difference between X-Ray, CT scan, and MRI?

X-rays use electromagnetic radiation to create images of bones and dense structures within the body. It is commonly used to detect fractures, infections, tumors, and other abnormalities.

X-rays are quick, relatively inexpensive, and readily available.

CT scans use X-rays and advanced computer processing to create cross-sectional images of the body. They provide more detailed information than traditional X-rays and can show bones, organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues.

CT scans are useful in diagnosing conditions such as internal injuries, tumors, infections, and blood clots.

MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of soft tissues, organs, and structures inside the body. It provides excellent contrast between different types of soft tissues and is particularly useful for imaging the brain, spinal cord, joints, and muscles.

MRI does not involve ionizing radiation, making it a safer option for imaging, especially for pregnant women and children.

However, MRI scans take longer to perform, are more expensive, and may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical implants or metal objects in their bodies
