Meet Kelly! ⭐️

Kelly Stephens, RN, recently joined our team as our Assistant Director of Nursing. Her favorite part of the job are the interactions she has with the residents and feeling like she’s made at least a small difference in other’s lives. Kelly would like to continue her nursing education and one day be a Director of Nursing. When asked who inspires her, Kelly stated, “I have had the pleasure of meeting many women who have been able to impact others through being a wife, mother, and nurse. I try to take a little of what they taught me and live my life with purpose.”

Kelly and her husband Justin have three children, and their first grandbaby is on the way! In her free time, Kelly likes to read, fish, camp, and spend time with her family and friends. A fun fact about Kelly is that she loves coffee, specifically anything sweet! She also loves football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.

We are so glad to have you as a part of our Altercare team, Kelly, and we can’t wait to see what you bring to our facility! 💙

Earlier this week, our residents got to enjoy freshly popped popcorn from our new popcorn machine, courtesy of our amazing Administrator, Chelsea! Everyone munched on their popcorn while playing some Bingo, which is always a hit. 🍿

Last week, our residents made some yummy Oreo dirt for cooking club. We used chocolate pudding, Oreos, whipped cream, and gummy worms to make this delicious treat. They turned out wonderful and the residents had a great time.

This week, we are taking some time to appreciate our hardworking mentor nurses. In addition to their daily resident care assignments, they have also taken on the responsibility of training new nurses. We honored our two mentor nurses, Nancy and Stephanie, with an Altercare bag. We are so appreciative of both of these ladies for all of their hard work! 💙

Meet our July Employee of the Month… Amber!

Amber Miller is our receptionist and also helps out in activities. During her 2 years as a part of our team, Amber has enjoyed building relationships with the residents and watching them succeed. Her motivation to come to work every day is being able to be a part of a great team and work environment. When asked what advice she would give to new employees joining the team, Amber stated, “Smile. You never know if someone’s having a rough day. Your smile could change someone’s day.

Amber has a dog and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Amber is that her favorite food is Mexican!

We are so thankful to have Amber as a part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what her future has in store for her. Congratulations, Amber! 💙

July 17th was National Tattoo Day! To celebrate, our residents and staff got some cute temporary tattoos. Everyone had so much fun getting some new ink.

July 11th was National Fry Day! To celebrate, our staff enjoyed a French fry bar. Our management team supplied toppings like sour cream, bacon bits, shredded cheese, and chili. Yum!

Billie and Robert have supported our operations from behind the scenes with unwavering commitment, innovation, and expertise. Their contributions have powered our progress and helped shape the systems we rely on every day.

We are grateful for their years of service and wish them both all the best on this exciting new journey.

On Monday, we celebrated World Chocolate Day! Our staff enjoyed chocolate cake and our Environmental Services Coordinator, Sharon, supplied them with a variety of candy bars. The residents enjoyed fudge and chocolate ice cream bars. What a delicious, chocolate-filled day!

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Our residents had such a fun time making patriot paintings using sq**rt guns. It was such a unique and fun way to let the residents get creative and celebrate the holiday.

One of our special treats during National CNA Week was a water and lemonade cart! Our Director of Nursing, Sarah, travelled around the facility offering our staff and residents lemonade and flavored water. Everyone got to choose to add strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries to customize their beverage. This was such a nice refreshing treat that everyone really enjoyed! 🍋
