Baptist Health Louisville is proud to support the Fern Creek community! This week, our President, Jonathan Velez, MD, presented an automated external defibrillator (AED) to Councilman Keith Bratcher at the Fern Creek Chamber of Commerce meeting.

“The AED presentation reflects our growth in the Fern Creek area, including the opening of our new urgent care and emergency department in Glenmary,” said Dr. Velez. “When we were asked to donate an AED, we were happy to help.”

The AED will be available at the Fern Creek Community Center, providing a crucial life-saving resource. “AEDs are things you hope never to use, but when minutes count in a cardiac emergency, they save lives,” Dr. Velez added.

Protect yourself and your family this flu season. Baptist Health is offering convenient options to receive a flu shot during the months of September and October. Curbside flu shot clinics will be available in the Louisville and Crestwood areas starting September 27 through October 11.

To use the curbside clinics, patients must be age 9 or older. Children under age 9 should receive flu shots at a primary care or pediatric office, where age-specific health needs can be addressed during a traditional visit.

Please check with your insurance provider regarding any co-pay or out-of-pocket expenses for flu shots. For more information, visit BaptistHealth.com/FluShot.
