Last week was a busy one for our residents. We had kids visit from the area that sang carols and handed out gifts to our residents. Then our Nurse Jackie and her church came in and gave out gifts and sang to the residents. They always look forward to Jackies visit at Christmas. We had the Holy Rollers come in and sing for the Christmas Special. PRP high school kids came in and sang carols and did a craft with the residents (they made ornaments) We had our resident party where we played games and laughed til our bellies hurt. We played Candy canes (like Spoons), reindeer antlers, snow ball fight, blind folded bow pick up and we made life size picture frames with the bows that we took turns taking pictures in. after lunch we had a visit from Santa where he handed out presents to all of our residents. Friday was happy hour with Ron Marks. then over the weekend the residents made bells from terracotta pots.

Busy Winter fun week at Park Terrace. Our residents made more snowman hats that will be used for our centerpieces for upcoming December sunday brunch. We designed our own ornaments, made snowmen from coffee creamer containers, edible snowman donut sticks, as well as penguins and foam santas. We also had a visit from Medora Elementary school that came and sang Christmas Carols to us and brought some nice gifts for the residents. We really appreciate the neighborhood coming to visit during the holidays. The residents are always excited to see the kids come around. We will be closing out this week with a snowy Happy hour showing "A miracle on 34th Street"

We loaded up the van for 2 trips to the Lights under Louisville at the Mega Cavern this week. The residents loved it. The lights, the cave, the Christmas music and Josh's dad jokes as he drove us through.
Also, this week we made Snowmen hats and Santa Suit jackets from large vegetable cans that the kitchen saved for us. We painted and decorated them.
The residents helped decorate the Christmas trees that are all around our campus as well as hanging some decorations in the halls and common areas.
We will close out the week with Mike Hutchins for our Happy Hour today for some Christmas songs.

Halloween week was fun-filled at Park Terrace. We started the week with our Hot Chocolate Bar, then created witches' cauldron canvases, and made personal-sized Halloween bark. We had our annual residents and employees trick-or-treating family night. We ended the week with a visit from Brother Josh and the church. Then, our employee recognition monthly celebration. Halloween happy hour was themed Boos and Booze, where we watched The Dog That Saved Halloween. It was a great week. The residents love seeing all the kids' and employees' costumes and hearing the laughs shared between families and guests throughout the building. ❤️

HAPPY THEME WEEK!! this week we had our theme dinner in pure cruise fashion- all residents got a lai and a captains hat. We played cruise ship inspired games before dinner, which included shooting the cup off of the employees heads, cups and bowling. We enjoyed an amazing dinner from our Chef Vincent that was a surf and turf theme. We made pumpkin rice krispy treats and our pumpkins were any color we liked instead of your typical orange. We created our very own ghost using kids shoes, pool noodles and pillow cases. They turned out super cute and the residents loved them. we will be closing the week with happy hour this afternoon.

Last week our residents made rainbow canvas' with cotton balls, water and paint. They crafted Halloween goodie bags that were witches brooms and witches hats. We celebrated a resident birthday with cupcakes brought in by the family. We did some bowling, dice bingo, indoor stretches as well as took advantage of the last bit of warm weather and hung out outside during the afternoon. The residents also created beautiful centerpieces with Ms. Therese. Therese will be switching campuses and our residents will miss seeing her, but we wish her well in her new adventures.
