The Christmas Day Luncheon was another culinary success at Vitality Living St Matthews! Lisa and her crew provided another amazing meal! Bourbon and pineapple glazed ham or chicken fried turkey, mashed potatoes, fried okra, kale, corn muffin, cherry pie or pecan bar.

At Vitality Living St Matthews we've had such a busy holiday season that we are catching up on some photos!
Seen below is a picture of the residents enjoying an early morning performance by the Canters from Our Lady of Lourdes. They were a wonderful group of young artists performing Christmas Around the World.
That same day (Wednesday the 18th) The Belles & Beaus performed for our residents.
The Annual Gala was Thursday ( see earlier post) and then we had Cookies and Cocoa with Santa on Saturday morning for our resident and staff younger family members. A huge thank you to Dick ( our former driver) for playing Santa at both events! Then on Saturday residents completed their beautiful acrylic painting project! And more to come!

So someone requested "White Christmas" and we couldn't find it in our songbook of 'best-known songs' - we realized that the book we were playing out of was published over 80 years ago, before the White Christmas song was written. LOL! But looking back at this video really warms my heart because of the people that are in it. 1st comes Sally in her stripes (Sally's sister lives here, but we've embraced sister Sally just like one of our own), 2nd you can see Suzanne walking over to the couch, 101-year old Suzanne! 3rd you can see Jane come over with her walker to the chair, she is 90 and one of our biggest fans!

Just because something is over 80 years old doesn't mean that it is not great!

A Team that plays together, stays together!

We appreciate our residents letting us take over the dining room for a night while we held our employee holiday party. Part of how we care so much about our residents is because we care so much about each other as well. There is a great team of dedicated and caring staff here (and fun!)

The Vitality Living St Matthews Annual Gala was held last Thursday, 12/18, and was a huge success! We had seating throughout the building to accommodate over 100 guests (not including the residents). Led by Culinary Director, Lisa, the buffet was wonderful, with a carving station, dessert bar and appetizers in the Activity room. Santa was on hand for picture opportunities and the entertainment was great.
