Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Nancy Elaine Burleyson, age 81 of Keysville who passed away Saturday July 19, 2025, at Piedmont Healthcare of Augusta.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday August 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Louisville.

A native of Concord, NC., Mrs. Burleyson was a daughter of James Hazel Burleyson and Bernice Leigh Mullis Burleyson. Nancy worked for several years in Customer Service with Exon. She was a homemaker, and her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Burleyson, daughter, Lydia Lee Nunez on July 15, 2025. She is survived by, sister, Hazel Jean Mullis of Concord, NC., daughters, Beverly Poss, (Avery) of Dearing, Ga, Lisa Ochoa, (Juan) of Keysville, Ga, son, Larry Starnes. (Randy Alston) of Myrtle Beach, SC., many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Lydia Lee Nunez, age 63 of Louisville who passed away on Monday July 15, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday August 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Louisville.

A native of Concord, NC., Mrs. Nunez, was a daughter of Larry Wayne Starnes, Sr., and Nancy Elaine Burleyson. Lydia was retired and now a stay-at-home Grandmother. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.

She is survived by, daughters, Nancy Yellets (Wesley), of Louisville, Angelic Burleyson of Waynesboro, Maxie Burleyson, sisters, Beverly Poss (Avery), of Dearing, Ga, Lisa Ochoa (Juan), of Keysville, Ga, brother, Larry Starnes, of Myrtle Beach, SC., 4 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Gregg. She was a devoted mom, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Services to celebrate her life will be held 6:00 pm Thursday evening, May 1, 2025, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson.

She peacefully passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 66. Betty was born on January 03, 1959, and raised in Richmond County. She was a beacon of love and strength, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Earnest Lee Smith, Jr. (E.J.), her brother James Wilbur Gregg (Jimbo), and her parents James Earl Gregg and Louise Braswell Gregg. She was survived by her sister, Lena Gregg, her children, Michelle (Rick) Hopper, Phillip (Courtney) Renew, and Shanon (Kevin) Fain, her grandchildren, Jamie, Justin, Megan, Jessica, Kevin, Alyssa, Mattlyn, Ansley, Hannah, Brandon Jr, Steven, J.P., and Kayson, and her great-grandchildren, Carter, Jack, Chance, Jace, Annlyn, Easton, Brookelyn, Charlee, Maylee, Brandon, Cooper, Riley, Sawyer, Tannler, Lochlan, and multiple cousins.

She poured her heart into her children, always there to offer a comforting presence, a listening ear, and a warm embrace. She had many talents and hobbies such as crafting, conversating, spending time with family, thrifting, gardening, and fishing. As a grandmother, she showered her grandchildren with endless love, creating cherished memories and fostering a deep bond that will last a lifetime. She was a woman of strong faith, unwavering optimism, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.

Betty’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Buckner, age 95, of West Main Street in Gibson who died Sunday evening, April 20, 2025.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, morning graveside in the Gibson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Buckner was a native of Wrens, a daughter of the late Garland Templeton and Janie Perdue Templeton. She attended Wrens High School and had retired from the textile industry working in the samples Department at Clear Water Finishing Plant. Mrs. Buckner was a long-time, faithful member of Gibson First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Earl (Sonny) Buckner, two grandchildren, Valerie McCall and Floyd McCall, Jr, brothers Andrew Templeton, and Frank Templeton, and a sister, Frances Templeton. She is survived by her children, Connie Price, of Gibson, Bob Norton, of Avera, Janice Rushing of Augusta and Charles Norton of Grovetown, brothers, James Templeton and Roy Templeton, a sister, Jo Tanner, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Sidney D. Swint, age 68, of Gibson, who died Monday morning, April 7, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 12, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Gibson with Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Gibson, Sidney was a son of the late Oswell Swint and Deanie Swint. He was a graduate of Warren County High School, was a retired truck driver, and had worked with B&H Trucking and Advanced Trucking for more than 30 years.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger Swint; sister, Bobbie Massey; and his stepson, Nicholas Shane Tarnow. He is survived by his wife, Linda Swint; brother, Lewis Swint (Gwen); stepsons, Christopher A. Tarnow and Jeffery D. Davis - all of Gibson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery fund 290 Swint Road Gibson, GA 30810.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Jimmy Barron Hadden, who died Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, at his residence.

A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, Louisville. Burial will be in the family plot in the Louisville City Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Jimmy was a son of the late J. Morris Hadden and Lillie Matthews Hadden. He attended Louisville Academy and retired from Thermo King after many years of service.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in-law, G. Harry Walker and is survived by a son, Roger Hadden of Louisville; stepson, Charlie Sikes (Trisha) of Waynesboro; stepdaughter, Kimberly S. Collier; sister, Ann H. Walker of Louisville; brother, William M. Hadden (Linda) of Louisville; grandchildren, Kane Hadden (Margo), Trey Hadden (Kamryn), Scotty Sikes, Brandon Sherly (Shelley), Kysten Sikes; nephew, Keith Walker of Atlanta; niece, Stacy Hadden (Brendy Richard); great-niece, Makayla Thompson; great-nephews, Carl Thompson and Gage Benevides and many lifelong friends.

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Jean Dixon Walden, age 88, of Highway 24 West in Bartow, who died Friday morning, March 28, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 30, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Melchior officiating. Pallbearers will be Ollie Freeman, Cason Walden, David Dollar, Dan Gibson, Mark Davis, and Jonathan Davis. She will be laid to rest in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The Walden family will receive friends at the church on Sunday one hour prior to the services.
Mrs. Walden was a native of Bartow, a daughter of the late Hubert Dixon and Evelyn Dixon Sauley. She was a graduate of Wadley High School. She began working at Jefferson Energy Cooperative in 1957 as a Membership Clerk and retired in 1997 after 37 years of service. Known for her great sense of humor and straightforward demeanor, Jean had a personality that resonated warmth and loyalty. She possessed a deep love for her family, embracing each member with affection and dedication. Her loving, kind, and generous nature touched everyone around her. She formed deep, loyal friendships, leaving a significant impact on the lives she encountered. Jean’s faith was the cornerstone of her existence. For many years she was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and later becoming an active member of Louisville First Baptist church. Her devotion extended not only to her spiritual life but also to her family and friends, as she was known for her loving, kind, and generous nature. Family was always her first priority and greatest love.
Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 57 years: Donald Maxie Walden, Sr.; grandson: Daniel Dollar; sister: Bernice Humphrey; and is survived by daughter: Donna (Jimmy) Pittman of Oconee; sons: Donald Maxie (Buster) Walden, Jr. of Louisville and Brian P. (Susan) Walden of Bartow; sister: Carolyn Boulineau of Wrens; brother: Wiley Dixon of Guss Creek, SC; grandchildren: Ron Kelley, David (Crystal) Dollar, Mallory Murray, Cason Walden, & Lexi Walden; great-grandchildren: Angela Kelley, Jordan Kelley, Kaden Dollar, and Maxie Dollar; great-great-grandchildren: Nalviah & Phoenix; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Barbara J. Cheeks, age 75, of Louisville who died Friday evening, March 21, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday March 25, in the Louisville Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Underwood officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hurbert Cheeks, Kenneth Cheeks, Dennis Cheeks, Jason Arrington, Steve Mauney and Larry Rhoads.
Mrs. Cheeks was born in Louisville, on April 17, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Gordon Arrington and Minnie Lou Gibson Arrington. She retired from Thermo King in 2002 after 15 years of service. Barbara served as a Pink Lade at Jefferson Hospital. She was a member of Louisville Methodist where she served on numerous ministries including Helping Hands, Good Sheppard Thrift store, and the Sunshine Committee. Barbara was always willing to help wherever she was needed she will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Cheeks was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Mauney she is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years Joe Cheeks, of Louisville, brother Charles Arrington (Linda) of Swainsboro, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. John Mitchell Henson, age 76, of Louisville who died Tuesday morning, March 11, 2025.
Services to celebrate John’s life will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 22, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, Louisville, with Rev. David Boggs officiating and Mitchell McGraw assisting. He will be laid to rest in the family plot in Louisville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
John was a native and lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He was the son of the late Cleve Howard Henson and Harriet McNeely Henson. John attended Louisville Academy and the Moxley Methodist Church for many years. John lived his life serving the youth and was always willing to volunteer his time as a trainer at the middle and high schools for both Louisville Academy and Jefferson County, as well as running the scoreboard at Jefferson County recreation department. The community will have a void that can never be replaced. In his spare time, John loved to watch old westerns, John Wayne movies, and the Atlanta Braves. But, his greatest pastime and love was for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Mr. Henson was preceded in death by his parents, and longtime companion Wanda Brooks, brother, Jack Henson and is survived by sisters, Evelyn Sinclair (John) of Lawrenceville, Mary Ann Henson of Lawrenceville, and Martha Henson of Duluth, brother Clayton Henson (Lynda) of Douglasville sister-in-law, Karen Henson of Powder Springs. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
