We are traveling this month in France and Spain. I’m still better off going to the grocery or markets for fresh foods than to rely on restaurants. Our lunch today was roasted mixed vegetables and peppers, olives, cherry tomatoes,olives, hummus and a bit of Mediterranean seasoned seitan on a bed of greens with some gazpacho. Note to self… bring along select spices and dried herbs or mixes when traveling. That seriously makes a huge difference.

Studies show that a diet high in whole natural fiber, which comes solely from plants, not only decreases your risk of chronic disease, it also makes you FEEL GOOD! Let's eat like the studies tell us to, not the big agricultural interests. Self care IS Healthcare. 🌱

Don’t worry, guys — I fixed it.

Still can’t believe the original image didn’t prioritize beans.

This is always a red flag for me clinically. In patients who’ve tried high-fat or animal-forward diets, that often limit beans, we almost always see the same issues: poor fiber intake, worse lipid profiles, and greater metabolic risk.

Beans are one of the most well-studied foods we have:
- High fiber
- Plant protein
- Proven cardiovascular and metabolic benefits

If a health influencer is emphasizing meat above beans, that is a red flag!

Food pyramids change. Human physiology doesn’t.
