📢 Important Update for Our Patients with Medicaid Coverage 📢
Starting June 30, 2025, changes are coming to how Kentucky Medicaid renewals work for children.
During the pandemic, families were not required to renew their Medicaid coverage each year. While that process has mostly ended, Kentucky had a special waiver that still allowed automatic renewals for children — but that waiver is ending.
👉 What this means for you:
Families will now need to complete an annual renewal (redetermination) to keep their child’s Medicaid coverage.
✅ If the state can verify your child’s information automatically, your Medicaid may renew without you doing anything.
⚠️ If not, you’ll receive a notice in the mail with a deadline to submit documents.
❌ If you don’t respond by the deadline, your child’s Medicaid coverage could end.
This will not affect everyone at once. Redeterminations will happen as each child reaches 12 months since their last renewal, so this will be an ongoing process.
Please make sure your mailing address and contact information are up to date with the state, and keep an eye out for any renewal notices.

💧 Hydration is key! Remind your little ones to drink water regularly — even if they don’t feel thirsty.
