Interim HealthCare of Louisville’s Story

Interim HealthCare of Louisville, is a locally owned and nationally supported home care and personal services agency serving all of Jefferson County and the surrounding areas. We’re dedicated to delivering in-home services to seniors, individuals with disabilities, chronically ill persons of all ages, those recuperating from surgery, and their families with unmatched compassion and superior client care. To help accomplish that objective we treat our care professionals well, ensure they have the support they need, and provide the recognition they deserve. By investing in the best staff and treating them like our family we enable them to take care of others. We take pride in the quality of our employees and our screening processes. By employing an experienced staff of home care experts we are able to deliver care with integrity and take pride in making a difference to those who need it most.

We’re a family owned business and that’s where our Interim HealthCare story begins – with our family. Janet, Don, and Aaron Price, three of Interim HealthCare of Louisville’s owners saw, first hand, the dilemma facing families these days. One of our closest family members, Janet’s aunt, was diagnosed with dementia but no one realized how serious the problem had gotten until her husband became ill and passed away. He was her primary caregiver and her best friend for over fifty years. Amidst our grief, someone was needed to take care of our loved one that was left behind. We couldn’t bear the thought of her moving to a facility and leaving her home behind. She needed to find an in-home option. Through another family member, Don’s sister, we had already seen the need to have someone in the home to help and provide non-medical care. As a blind and disabled individual, she doesn’t require nursing care but needs help with her activities of daily living. She’s always had family around to provide that care but not everyone does. With her family working full-time jobs and our family living far away, Janet’s aunt needed extra help from an elder care agency. With this experience in mind and wanting to find a way to work together as a family, Aaron researched opportunities for a business that would let them use their combined strengths and passions. Interim HealthCare, the nation’s oldest home care company, had an outstanding opportunity to expand the brand into the Louisville area. It wasn’t long before a larger family meeting was called. With the support of Aaron’s parents, Janet and Don, his wife Abby, and her parents, John and Michelle Middleton, Aaron reached out to his former law school classmate and close friend Chris Ballantine. Rounding out the Louisville ownership team, Chris joined the Prices and Middletons and Interim HealthCare of Louisville was born. What we enjoy the most about this industry is the opportunity to help people and staff when they are in need – and we get to do that every single day. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to assist clients, staff, and their families achieve high-quality outcomes in the face of adversity. Prior to Interim, Janet spent over forty years in the healthcare industry. Starting as a radiologic technologist and working in chiropractic, sports medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, and medical office management, Janet provided a strong medical management background. Don is a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant from the U.S. Marine Corps and currently works at UPS. Michelle has spent her career as a registered nurse helping people in need. John provided healthcare to a different kind, but still important, patient – he recently retired from his veterinary practice. Abby coaches cheerleading and tumbling and, in addition to being a recent mother, will soon be a CNA. As for Aaron and Chris, they are both practicing attorneys with a passion for healthcare and helping others. Aaron has represented healthcare providers as well as nursing homes. In addition to becoming a Certified Senior Advisor, Chris and his family have always been passionate about working with elderly and disabled populations. We’ve seen first-hand the best and the worst that the senior care industry has to offer – and it seldom compares to the comfort of home.

We’ve also worked with some of the most disadvantaged amongst us and we knew we could find a way to help. We consider it a blessing to be able to contribute to the Louisville community as small business owners, caring employers, and providers of the highest quality in-home care. We’ll remain steadfast in our dedication to the principle that a powerful investment in our family of professional caregivers directly impacts and improves the level of care provided by our caregivers.
