This Black History Month, weβre proud to celebrate the remarkable individuals whose courage, compassion and trail-blazing work helped shape the future of health care in Louisville. π©Ί π₯
At Norton West Louisville Hospital, just outside our doors on 28th Street and Garland Avenue, stands a historical monument honoring some of the doctors, nurses and community leaders who dedicated their lives to caring for underserved communities during a time of segregation and limited access to care. This monument pays tribute to pioneers whose legacies laid the foundation for equitable care.
Their commitment uplifted generations and helped set the stage for new milestones - including the opening of Norton West Louisville Hospital, bringing vital health services back into a community that hadnβt had a hospital in more than 150 years.
This month and every month, we honor their contributions, resilience and vision. Learn more about the legacy of these healthcare heroes here: https://bit.ly/3ZU3VTq
