We practiced our right to vote and submitted our ballots yesterday during our Election Trolley Hop! Residents waited their turn at Norton Commons Elementary School to cast their votes in the Kentucky May Primary Election. 🇺🇸🗳️

A few highlights from our week!

We enjoyed the sunshine and started getting our patio Summer time ready with a great gardening crew 🪏👩🏻‍🌾

We celebrated all of the May birthdays with a special lunch and a custom cake 🍰

We caught little moments of a Mom and Baby deer enjoying our honeysuckle bushes 🦌

We found and returned the cutest dog, Rudy, to his rightful home 🏠🐶

Update‼️

"Rudy" as we now know him, has been returned to his owner. Apparently this little guy is a notorious escape artist! Thank you to everyone who shared and helped spread the word.

This little guy was hanging out in our park this morning without an owner. He’s very friendly and has a blue collar on, but unfortunately no tag with a name or phone number.

May is Stroke Awareness Month, and we were pleased to welcome the Kentuckiana Stroke Association to speak with our residents this week about the signs and symptoms of stroke and the importance of recognizing them quickly in ourselves and those around us.

Our residents learned the acronym “BE FAST” to help identify when someone may be experiencing a stroke, and they were even provided refrigerator magnets to keep this important information close at hand.

🧠 BE FAST:
B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
E – Eyes: Sudden blurred vision or trouble seeing in one or both eyes
F – Face: Facial drooping or numbness on one side
A – Arms: Weakness or numbness in an arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
S – Speech: Sudden confusion, slurred speech, or difficulty speaking or understanding
T – Time: Note the time symptoms begin and call 9-1-1 immediately

A HUGE thank you to our residents, families, and community partners for making our Cinco de Mayo party such a hit! With over 200 guests enjoying tacos and live music, the energy was unforgettable.

Moments like these remind us that retirement isn’t the end of fun but the beginning of a whole new chapter!

We made hats, ate Hot Browns, sang My Old Kentucky Home, told our favorite Derby stories, bet on horses, and had a Win, Place, Show of our own during our hat contest 🏇🏻🌹
