Rest areas across the state are gearing up for Christmas, we’re only 7 days away! 🎄

Check out the decorations set up by the amazing CSP employees at the Whitehaven Rest Area!

The Whitehaven Rest Area is actually a restored 1860s Southern-style mansion. It features furnishings and memorabilia from Paducah native Alben Barkley, who served as Vice President under Harry S. Truman. Whitehaven is one of the finest Classical Revival residential structures in Kentucky and is the only historic home serving as an interstate Welcome Center!

Nine months ago, a traveler pulled into a rest area near Lexington, feeling stuck and overwhelmed. His car wouldn’t start, and he needed more than just jumper cables he needed a little kindness. That’s when CSP employee Brandon stepped in. With a helping hand and a positive attitude, Brandon help get his car running and gave him the encouragement he needed to keep going.

Today, I witnessed something truly special. That same traveler still stops by the rest area just to say hello and Happy Thanksgiving to Brandon. He shared how much that moment meant to him how Brandon’s simple act of kindness turned his day around and left a lasting impression.

It’s moments like these that remind us: a small act of compassion can create a lasting impact. Thank you, Brandon, for showing what true service and humanity look like.
