I am a holistic veterinarian making house calls in the Boulder area. I provide acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, physical therapy, laser therapy, diet therapy and routine wellness care including vaccines when necessary for cats and dogs. I believe that the best veterinary care includes both traditional Western medicine and diagnostics with alternative therapies. I use antibiotics, steroids and other pharmaceuticals only when necessary.

If your vet has ever described your cat as “spicy,” “fractious,” or “a little intense”…
this one’s for you. 😼🌶️

Chemical restraint isn’t cruel. It’s compassionate.
And when gabapentin alone doesn’t cut it, there are better options that reduce fear, stress, and trauma for everyone involved.

Your cat isn’t trying to be difficult.
They’re overwhelmed.
And, we can help.

Not every lump or bump means cancer but all lumps and bumps deserve attention.

In this clip from Tails of Truth, I share a personal story that shaped how I think about lumps and bumps, biopsies, trusting your instincts as a pet parent and advocating for what feels best for you and your pet.

If you’ve ever wondered whether to “wait and watch” or look a little closer, this episode is for you.

“Feed the best diet you can afford and that your dog will eat.”

Not everyone can feed fully raw.
Not everyone should.
And that does not mean you’re failing your dog.

This clip is your permission slip to step out of diet guilt and into responsible, realistic feeding.

When Your Heart Can’t Accept the Diagnosis
“He was running… and my brain said, wait, he’s fine.”

It's those moments when your eyes see one thing and your heart refuses to accept what the diagnosis means and it's something so many pet parents experience.

The bargaining.
The second-guessing.
The quiet gaslighting of yourself just trying to make it make sense.

You’re not broken.
You’re grieving.

They’re not jumping in the car.
They hesitate on the stairs.
They don’t climb into bed anymore.

That’s often arthritis — not “just aging.”

One of the most underrated natural supports?
🐟 Fish oil (and it supports WAY more than joints).

My favorite fish oil can be found in my online shop at Boulder Holistic Vet (link in bio)

Some days are so busy you don’t get a break.
Some days you push past the point of no return.
And some days… you just have to laugh at yourself. 😅

This is what life looks like behind the scenes — real, human, and occasionally ridiculous.

💚 We followed our hearts… and hit record. 💚

In 2025, we launched the Tails of Truth Podcast because we wanted more authentic, unscripted conversations in veterinary medicine — the kind that create real connection and help pet guardians feel engaged, informed, and empowered (not overwhelmed or judged).

Somehow, that decision turned into 39 episodes, listeners in 56 countries, and a spot in the top 50% of Buzzsprout podcasts — and that part is 100% because of you.

Thank you for listening, sharing episodes with your people, asking thoughtful questions, and showing up as curious, compassionate pet parents. You’re the reason this podcast works. 🐾

We’re heading into 2026 excited to keep telling the truth, leaning into holistic vet medicine, and reaching even more pet lovers who want honest conversations without the fluff.

We want to know:
👉 What questions do you want answered next?
👉 What topics would help you advocate even better for your pets?

Drop them below — we’re all ears.

True story from vet school 👇

When my roommate and I had six cats between us, every single one was eating kibble…
and every single one was overweight.

Vet school taught us something that stuck with me forever:
👉 Cats are not designed to eat kibble.

So we switched all six cats to a high-protein, low-carb, high-moisture canned diet — something much closer to what a mouse would look like nutritionally.

Two months later?
🐾 Between all six cats, we lost one whole cat’s worth of weight!
They lost the weight with a simple diet change.

This conversation matters more than you think.

In this clip from Tails of Truth Podcast, I talk about feline obesity, why it’s so common, and the question showing up everywhere right now — could GLP-1 medications ever help cats lose weight safely?

No shame. No blame. Just thoughtful, grounded veterinary truth.

Not every pet fits neatly into a 15-minute appointment. ⏲

Chronic illness, nutrition questions, supplements, behavior concerns, aging, quality of life — these deserve time and context.

Through virtual consultations, I’m able to partner with pet parents anywhere to review records, answer questions, and build realistic, compassionate care plans.

If you’ve ever felt rushed, overwhelmed, or unsure of next steps, consults are designed for you. 🐾
