We have a Different Philosophy of Strength Training Fitness Integrated Science
In many modern fitness environments, people are encouraged to:
• lift heavier as fast as possible
• generate momentum
• move explosively without foundational control
While there are specialized athletes who train this way, the general population does not need to. For most adults—especially those over 50—strength training should progress differently:
Slow before fast.
Control before load.
Stability before speed.
When you learn to control a weight throughout the entire movement—including the descent—you develop the kind of strength that protects your joints.
That’s the kind of strength that allows people to remain active for decades.
