Protect yourself by filing early, ignoring unsolicited communication, using strong security, and hiring reputable tax preparers. The IRS will never initiate contact via text/email, nor demand immediate payment over the phone.

Some Medicare beneficiaries are receiving new Medicare cards with new numbers. Medicare is sending these new cards with a letter explaining why a new number has been issued. If you aren’t sure if mail from Medicare is legitimate, call 1-800-Medicare and ask.

March’s Fraud Fighter of the Month is Nannette! Nannette is the Director of the Betsylayne Senior Citizens Center in Betsy Layne, Kentucky, and she has been with the center for 27 years. She has been extremely helpful to our SMP team at MSU Prestonsburg by sharing our newsletters with the be neficiaries who attend her Center, and she also makes sure our newsletters are sent out to homebound clients along with their meals. Her support truly helps us reach more people in the community!💙🧡🩵
