Our Vice President of Culinary, Chef Kevin Penn, CEC, CCA, was recently honored as the American Culinary Federation Central Regional winner for the 2025 Dr. L.J. Minor Chef Professionalism Award.

This award honors chefs who exemplify professionalism, and Chef Kevin is more than deserving. His leadership has elevated dining across 150+ StoryPoint Group communities, turning meals into experiences and dining rooms into gathering spaces. We couldn’t be prouder. Way to go, Chef Kevin!

💅✨ Consider our residents pampered! One of our resident’s daughters, an Avon rep, stopped by to treat everyone to a spa-like afternoon. She shared skincare tips, helped residents find the perfect lotions, painted some nails, and even gave away goodies to take home. A little self-care was the perfect pick-me-up for both our men and women here at Louisville East! 💖🌿

It was extra special when one resident got so excited, she ran to her room and brought back her very first Avon bottle from years ago! 🥰 A wonderful day of self-care, memories, and goodies for both our men and women here at Louisville East. 💖

At Louisville East, we celebrated Senior Citizen Day in the tastiest way—with our very own pop-up donut shop drive-thru! 🚗✨ Residents decorated their rollers and walkers like cars, pulled up to the window, and ordered fresh donuts and hot coffee to start the day off right. ☕🍩❤️

While each resident truly earned their award, we can all agree that our whole community won the ‘Most Likely to Stay Up Past Their Bedtime’ award. 😉 We feel so lucky to have such an amazing, one-of-a-kind community. 💛

🍎✨ To close out our Back to School week, we hosted a special Happy Hour dedicated to our incredible retired teachers. We celebrated the impact they’ve made on countless lives and the legacy they’ve left behind.
As a token of our appreciation, each teacher was gifted a small lighthouse—symbolizing the light, hope, and guidance they’ve shined on this generation. 🕯️🌊

📚✏️ Louisville East is back to school! 🎒
We’re kicking off the new school year with a week full of fun, school-themed activities. From a spirited spelling bee 🐝 to colorful melted crayon crafts 🎨, our residents are bringing out their inner students!
Last night’s highlight was Are You Smarter Than a Senior?—our own twist on the classic Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. Two teams went head-to-head in a battle of wits, and after a nail-biting finish, Team A pulled ahead for the win! 🏆

🐾 Dog Days of Summer 🐾
We had a tail-wagging good time at our Dog Days of Summer event! Residents and guests got creative making adorable dog bandanas, enjoyed classic summer hot dogs, and even spoiled our furry friends with dog treats. It was a day full of smiles, laughter, and happy pups! 🐶🌭☀️
