Last November, the Filson Historical Society hosted members of KHQS and Louisville Nimble Thimbles who helped us with a mega quilt documentation project of our collection. New photos and information from the documentation project have been added to the Filson’s public database. Our database contains a snippet of the data we collected. The full collected data set will be available via the KHQS Kentucky Quilt Registry and the National Quilt at a future date. I invite you to browse the quilts that members worked so hard to document and help preserve! Just click on the quilt icon!

LNT hosted a judged Quilt Show March 7 to encourage improvement in quilt making. Judging will be done by a member who is studying to be a certified judge.

There are three final stages of pulling a quilt show together: TAKE IN, JUDGING, and the SHOW. Pictures of two phases will follow.

There are no pictures of quilt JUDGING to maintain privacy for the makers. Becky did a fabulous job of coordinating the five hour JUDGING event on Friday, but of course no picture of her in action. It literally took a village to accomplish this event and we are more than pleased with the outcome.
