Time to highlight some artwork created by a Newcare Louisville Adult Day Training Program participant! 🎨 Through our ADT program, we emphasize person-centered support through goal-oriented day services for adults with acquired brain injuries. Our ADT program provides life skills activities such as daily living skills, communication, budgeting, counting money, arts & crafts, friendship building, learning to get along with others, self-advocacy, health and safety, using community resources, community activities, and more. Happy Black History Month from Newcare Louisville! This Black History Month, and beyond, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of countless Black individuals throughout history and within our agency.

Let's take a moment to highlight the life of Lois Curtis, who was a disability rights advocate who spent nearly 20 years in institutions due to her cognitive and developmental disabilities. Her landmark case, Olmstead v. L.C., led to a Supreme Court ruling that institutionalizing people with disabilities is discriminatory, marking a turning point in the Independent Living Movement. Lois’s courage and advocacy helped change the way society views and treats individuals with disabilities. Without her contributions, agencies such as ours might not exist.

At Newcare Louisville, our main focus is providing residential and community support systems for those who are affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as individuals with acquired brain injuries. Residential support from Newcare Louisville is extremely beneficial to enhancing the daily lives of our participants, and we want to show you how! 🧠💙

🔹We offer personalized care plans that are tailored to each individual's needs.

🔹The residential support we provide is a safe environment with 24/7 supervision.

🔹Newcare Louisville also supports with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and personal hygiene, and helps residents maintain their independence. For example, staff may assist with cooking nutritious meals or managing personal care routines, helping residents to live comfortably and healthily.

🔹We promote our participants engaging in social and recreational activities promotes mental and emotional well-being. For instance, organizing group outings to local parks or community events allows residents to interact socially and enjoy leisure activities.

🔹We offer skill development programs that are designed to enhance personal abilities and independence, included in our Adult Day Training program.
