Taking place at the iconic Millionaires Row at Churchill Downs, the event helps ensure adults with mental illness have the assistance they need to live a life of recovery. Having just celebrated her second year with Wellspring, LaiEsha continues to demonstrate unwavering dedication to our clients and their success. Her vast employment experience shines through in every interaction, and her upbeat personality creates an encouraging and positive environment for both clients and colleagues.

LaiEsha’s extensive network of community connections has been instrumental in opening doors and creating opportunities for those we serve. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that clients not only find employment but also feel supported throughout their journey. Her passion for helping others achieve their goals is truly inspiring, and we are fortunate to have her as part of our team.

Our administrative offices will be closed on Monday, January 19th and will reopen Tuesday, January 20th.

Welcome to Wellspring!

Norma White-Caruso joins Wellspring as our first-ever Human Resources Director—an exciting milestone made possible through a grant awarded by the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana. A University of Louisville graduate, Norma is SHRM-SCP and CAPM certified and brings more than 20 years of HR management experience across nonprofit, private industry, and government environments. When she’s not at work, Norma manages a lively household with two kids at home (three launched), two dogs, two frogs, and one future cat (pending her husband’s approval), giving her plenty of real-world experience in patience, negotiation, and crisis response.

Please join us in welcoming back to Wellspring, Debra Peffer! She is joining us as our new Chief Financial Officer.

Debra Peffer is returning to Wellspring after a short hiatus, during which she worked for Catholic Charities and completed her MBA in March 2025. Debra originally joined Wellspring in September 2013 as a Staff Accountant, overseeing Medicaid, Medicare, and grant billing, and transitioned into the Controller role four years later. With nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit accounting and the mental health field, Debra brings both deep expertise and a strong understanding of Wellspring’s mission. Outside of work, she’s a proud mom to five fur babies—Georgia, Savannah, Cookie, Olive, and Vibes.
