You know that nagging ache between the shoulder blades⦠the kind that creeps into your neck, makes your shoulders feel heavy, and never quite goes away? Or those tight hips that make bending, squatting, or even getting comfortable in bed feel like a chore?
These patterns are incredibly common in people who lift weights, work physical jobs, spend long hours at a desk, or anyone whose body has been compensating for an old injury.
A great example of this is my client āShanna.ā (Name changed for privacy)
Years ago she tore her labrum doing repetitive overhead lifting while working in a factory. She never had surgery, but ever since then she had lived with limited range of motion in her shoulder. Over time her body adapted the only way it knew how⦠tightening through the upper back, locking down through the shoulder blade muscles, and creating tension that traveled into her neck and mid-back.
By the time she came in, she had that familiar pain between the shoulder blades, muscle imbalances from compensation patterns, and a shoulder that just wouldnāt move the way it used to.
I used a combination of myofascial release, targeted orthopedic techniques, active mobilization, and assisted stretching to help the tissues gradually release and the joint begin moving safely again.
By the end of that first session, her shoulder range of motion had improved by about 50% - without pain!
Moments like that are why I love this work. Seeing hope restored in someoneās eyes when they realize they can actually move their arm a certain way again is just so satisfying! š¤©
Pain and restriction rarely come from just one place. The body is a system of interconnected tissues, and when something isnāt moving well, other areas compensate. Thatās why my sessions are never just a standard ārelaxation massage.ā
šEach treatment is an intentionally curated blend of modalities designed to address the deeper patterns behind the pain : fascia, muscle, joint mobility, and nervous system tension, all in one session.
Itās a completely different experience than what most people think of when they hear the word āmassage.ā
If youāre dealing with:
⢠tight hips or pain down the legs
⢠shoulder pain or limited range of motion
⢠stubborn aches between your shoulder blades
⢠old injuries that never quite healed right
Your body may just need the right approach.
And sometimes, even one session can make a powerful difference. šÆ
