May is Melanoma Awareness Month, a reminder to be more intentional about protecting and monitoring your skin.
Knowing the ABCDEs of melanoma can help you spot potential concerns early:

A – Asymmetry (one half doesn’t match the other)

B – Border (irregular, scalloped, or poorly defined edges)

C – Color (variation in shades of tan, brown, black, or even red/white/blue)

D – Diameter (typically larger than 6mm, about the size of a pencil eraser)

E – Evolving (any change in size, shape, color, or symptoms like itching or bleeding)

If you notice anything new or changing, it’s always worth having it evaluated!
