Kentucky Oral Health Coalition A coalition of dental professionals, parents, teachers, advocates & many businesses working together

The Kentucky Oral Health Coalitions will;

To actively participate, communicate and encourage relationships of the Kentucky Oral Health Coalition with other advocacy groups in promoting oral and overall health for everyone residing in the Commonwealth;

To promote and encourage active interaction, effective collaboration and cooperation between all providers of oral and general health care and individuals within the population of Kentucky that need oral health services, prevention and education through the establishment of public-private partnerships by 2014;

To advocate for improved access to oral and general health prevention, services and education for all residents of the Commonwealth by 2020.

Kentucky Youth Advocates has released this year’s interactive KIDS COUNT Data Dashboard, giving advocates, partners, and decision-makers powerful tools to explore trends in child well-being across the state.
For oral health champions, the connections between food insecurity, childhood obesity, and access to care are especially important. The data makes clear how economic barriers and limited access to healthy food shape kids’ health outcomes across Kentucky. KOHC members can help turn data into action by sharing these insights with partners and policymakers as we work toward healthier communities and better oral health for all Kentuckians. Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday for KOHC’s Annual Meeting! ❄️
Despite the snowfall and a quick pivot to a hybrid format, we had a rigorous, interactive discussion and we’re excited to have officially voted on our 2026 policy priorities.

Help us welcome KOHC intern: Amanda Abner, RDH!

Amanda joins us from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where she serves as a Registered Dental Hygienist and Assistant Professor in the Division of Periodontology. Currently pursuing her Master of Public Health at UK. This month, Amanda has already been making an impact by contributing insightful blogs in honor of Dental Hygiene Month, highlighting the importance of preventive care and the incredible work of dental hygienists across Kentucky.
