Kentucky Voices for Health

Kentucky Voices for Health A broad coalition of organizations and individuals working to build a healthier Kentucky.

Who We Are:
KVH has been a respected voice of consumer advocates and a catalyst in health policy decision-making since 2007. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and nonpartisan coalition, we bring together individuals, advocates, community organizations, state agencies, and policymakers to address the underlying causes of poor health by connecting Kentuckians with opportunities to make change through policy advocacy. What We Do:
At Kentucky Voices for Health, we believe that every Kentuckian should have the opportunity to live a healthy life and contribute to the health of their communities.

To achieve our vision of a healthier Kentucky, we are leading a coalition of concerned Kentuckians from across the Commonwealth to ensure that every individual and community has a voice in the local, state and national decisions that affect their health. Many organizations are raising concerns that Kentucky’s HB2 goes further than the Big Beautiful Bill. With federal guidance still pending and costs still unclear, it’s reasonable to ask why Kentucky should be moving ahead now. See our letter to lawmakers: https://bit.ly/3PwwzIx

We all agree! The state budget should direct $1.2 million annually from JUUL settlement general fund dollars to youth prevention, which will help keep kids from starting to v**e and use other to***co products. Plus, put $4 million in the budget to allow additional resources to help adults be successful in their efforts to quit using addictive to***co products.

HB 583, which makes healthcare at schools more accessible, has been unanimously passed through the House! To keep this momentum going, we need your help getting it assigned to the Health Services Committee before it reconvenes on April 1.

Looking for a way to help? Contact Chair Sen. Meredith (Stephen.Meredith@kylegislature.gov) and Floor Leader Sen. Wise (Max.Wise@kylegislature.gov), then tell them to assign HB 583 to the HS Committee. Give the schools, healthcare providers, and students across the Commonwealth the support they need.

1 in 3 Kentuckians counts on Medicaid. It keeps rural hospitals open, supports seniors and people with disabilities, and anchors local economies. HB2 goes beyond federal requirements in ways that put coverage and care at risk. Tell lawmakers to meet federal minimums: 800‑372‑7181
