Wellness Wednesday: The 6 Pillars of Self-Care 🌿
Last segment we reframed self-care—this week, let’s expand it.
Self-care isn’t one thing… it’s whole-person wellness.
And most of us are only focusing on part of the picture.
Here are the 6 key areas of self-care:
✨ Physical – sleep, movement, nutrition
🧠 Mental/Intellectual – learning, focus, limiting overload
💛 Emotional – processing feelings, self-compassion
🤝 Social – connection, support, healthy boundaries
🌱 Spiritual – purpose, values, time in nature or reflection
🗂️ Practical/Professional – organizing life, managing responsibilities
Here’s the truth:
We tend to over-focus on one or two (usually physical or work-related)…
and quietly neglect the rest.
That imbalance is often where stress and burnout start.
Self-care isn’t about doing more—it’s about noticing what’s missing.
