✨ October Focus: Side Plank (Vasiṣṭhāsana) ✨

Lean into your edge this month with a playful, challenging, and deeply supportive asana exploration. In this workshop, Mandie ( Blooming Lotus OT+Yoga )will guide you through variations of side plank that honor your body, while uncovering the energetic benefits behind the pose.

From a participant at her last Play with your Edge workshop:
"I’ve never left crow or side crow practice without wrist pain until today! Your cues were amazing—I actually feel more confident on my hands without causing a flare-up in my chronic wrist pain." – Brittany

Community Spotlight on Katie Henneman

We recently connected with her about her yoga journey:

RSY: What brought you to yoga?

KH: I started yoga in my 20s as another form of exercise and have tried a variety of styles and studios in the places I have lived. Yoga has become more of a mental & spiritual health practice for me in the last several years, though I still appreciate the physical benefits.

RSY: What benefits have you received from your yoga practice- (Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual)?

KH: Yoga has helped me practice slowing down & being present, which is a difficult skill for me. When I am in class I am usually able to calm my thoughts and focus on the movement. Focusing on the breath is still a work in progress for me.

RSY: What community do you live in and why did you choose Resilient Soul Yoga as your yoga home?

KH: I live in SW Loveland and was excited to see a yoga studio open in downtown Loveland. It is a short drive for me and that's what led me to try RSY, but I stay mostly for the supportive and welcoming atmosphere and appreciate that I can show up in any mental state, any type of clothing, and fall over in any pose and I don't feel embarrassed or shamed, and often at least one person will offer a hug.

RSY: What hobbies/activities do you enjoy? How does your practice support the other activities you enjoy doing??

KH: I enjoy many forms of exercise, including hiking, walking my dogs, and cycling. I also enjoy playing the piano (I started taking lessons last year), drawing, and doing crafty things. This year I started a dog training business in addition to my full time job as an Occupational Therapist.

The instructors at RSY kindly remind us that we have to make the time for things that are important and that doesn't always mean trying to cram as much into your day as possible.

Yoga helps bring balance to my life by encouraging mental & physical flexibility, and encouraging me to slow down.

Thanks for being part of our community, Katie!!

✨ Meet Eric ✨
Reiki Practitioner • Intuitive Healer • Men’s Embodiment Leader

Resilient communities are built when men and women alike have spaces to grow, process, and reconnect.

Eric () offers the invitation to the men in our community: to explore support, healing, and resilience in a way that honors their body and spirit.

We believe men deserve spaces where they can lay down the weight they carry, connect without pressure, and step into authentic presence. Eric creates that kind of space—through one-on-one Reiki + energy sessions and through our monthly Men’s Embodiment Group.

Where strength meets curiosity.
Where balance meets surrender.

This month’s Play With Your Edge workshop with Blooming Lotus OT+Yoga invites you to explore the empowering arm balances of Crow and Side Crow.

✨ What to expect:
🔹 Step-by-step breakdowns of the poses
🔹 Variations + props to meet your body where it’s at
🔹 Energetic insights behind the shapes
🔹 Supportive space to try, wobble, and grow

This is for yogis with a solid foundation in asana who are ready to lean in, play, and discover. Because it’s not about “perfecting the pose”—it’s about the awareness you gain along the way.

Our Community Spotlight is on Loveland resident, Daniel Rode.

Daniel hit over 108 classes this month, joining our Club 108!

As he recently shared, "I enjoy the sense of community I get from going to yoga at RSY. It is nice to be together and different at the same time.

I really enjoy the Intuitive Somatic yoga class; it is one of the best for helping me get in touch with my body.

I picked RSY as my yoga studio because my body struggles with energy management, so gentle classes are what it needs.

RSY is the only studio I have found where I felt comfortable taking things slow."

Great job listening to your body, Daniel!

Whatever pace your body or soul needs, from slow and introspective, to a more active flow, we have got you covered.
