Our Story

S.M.I.L.E.S. is a highly specialized therapy practice with a primary focus in pediatrics. We are committed to excellence in service and we do that by providing an unprecedented level of education, along with a collaborative environment in which all of our therapists are involved in discussing each client’s needs, in order to assess the best methods for optimal results.

S.M.I.L.E.S. was created by Tara Koker-Noia (the vision) and Paul Noia (business strategy and development) in 2005. Knowing the importance and need for a better approach to conventional therapy methods, in 2010 the couple embarked on the difficult journey of creating a specialized therapy center by training Speech-Language Pathologists in the PROMPT therapy method and combining that discipline with specialized OT modalities in order to create a therapy center unlike any other. It takes approximately 3 - 5 years of training for clinicians to be fully certified in PROMPT and in an industry with high turnover rates, they knew they also had to create a business model that was also cutting edge. Knowing this, S.M.I.L.E.S. invests heavily in its clinicians and provides equity interest and incentives to ensure clinicians are equally invested in S.M.I.L.E.S. long term.

S.M.I.L.E.S. is the only therapy center of its kind in the Greater Cincinnati Area and it’s our objective to continue pioneering and advancing new and better approaches and techniques in therapy. It’s our mission to create the best clinicians through continuous education, training and development, thereby creating the best results and success rates in the region.
