I was taught through most of my healing journey that we must fight for it. To control harder, restrict more, suppress the symptoms, chase the weight loss, fear hunger and calories, push past exhaustion, override what the body is trying to say.
But the truth I learned the hard way was- none of that is healing or SUSTAINABLE!
Spirit led healing invites us to reframe our situation…
This approach allows us to stop treating our symptoms like the enemy and start listening to them as divine feedback. The body is not always failing us, rather, it is revealing where support is needed. Where nourishment has been missing and stress has been too high. Where depletion has been too deep and disconnection has gone on for too long.
True healing is not just about trying to fix what feels broken. It is about giving the body what it has been asking for.
Things like:
Real nourishment, rest, minerals.
Protein. Fiber. Sunlight. Movement.
Safety. Regulation. Peace. And spiritual intimacy🤍
I believe healing is deeply practical and deeply spiritual. We do our part by creating the conditions for the body to recover. God does His part in the places we cannot force, control, or manufacture.
When we give the body what it needs, it then can do what it was designed to do: heal, restore, and release what it no longer needs to hold.
You do not have to go to war with yourself to get well… rather, come home to yourself and honor this body that is crying for help.
Maybe this healing/ weightloss journey is about more than just our body. 💫
