Free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Class at Brian Center of Alleghany

Ready to start a rewarding career in healthcare? We’re now accepting applications for our upcoming FREE CNA training class.

Class begins Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Deadline to apply is Friday, April 3, 2026.
Class hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Graduates will have the opportunity to apply for positions at Brian Center Alleghany or other Kissito Healthcare communities. Applicants must complete a background check, drug screen, and provide two reference checks.

The therapy staff would like to officially welcome to their team Ryan Miller. Ryan is a PTA and he first started at the Brian Center part time in the fall but is now full time! Ryan is already such an asset to the team as his calm demeanor is welcomed in a skilled nursing facility, has always gone above and beyond with staffing needs, and the patients have said nothing but kind things about him! Welcome to the team Ryan! We are lucky to have you!

Congratulations to our February Rehab Rockstars Virginia Smith and Ruby Dheel!

Ms. Virginia Smith came into the facility non weight bearing on her left leg and required a hoyer lift for transfers. She has always worked hard towards her goals and started getting stronger and able to improve her standing tolerance and transfers even while still being non weight bearing. Once she got weight bearing from the doctors she began to progress well with walking, ADLs, standing, and transfers. She is ambulating long distances in the facility and even tackling the steps as well! Keep it up Virginia! We are so proud of you and the progress you've made!

Ms. Ruby Dheel came in as well with non weight to her arm. Once she was able to get her sling removed and received weight bearing from the doctors she has truly made progression in all areas of her therapy. She is standing over 5 mins, ambulating, participating in ADLs and IADLs and getting closer to home each day. Much credit to Ruby and her hard work for such success!

On Dec 18, we hosted our annual Brian Center of Alleghany "Thanks-Christmas Dinner," and this year our them was Winter Wonderland. Families and residents gathered do a delicious meal cooked by our awesome dietary staff. It was all hands-on deck from department managers and our awesome nursing and CNAs made sure everyone was looking fabulous for the evening.

Housekeeping and maintenance did a fantastic job ensuring the building was in perfect conditions for our large gathering. It was perfect night of making memories.

We are truly a blessed family.
