Lowell WIC at Community Teamwork Walk ins are welcomed although calling us ahead is strongly encouraged. WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children.

Apply online at https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-for-the-women-infants-children-wic-nutrition-program It is a free nutrition program for Massachusetts families that provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and other services. WIC’s goal is to keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, and children under age 5 healthy. WIC is a unique program, which provides links to health and social service agencies, as well as food and nutrition services to low to moderate income people in critical stages of growth and development. We are so saddened by the passing of Senator Ed Kennedy, a true friend and champion of Community Action. Senator Kennedy was a fierce advocate for housing and homelessness, education, culture and the arts. When Community Teamwork established our Youth Opportunity Center for at-risk youth and young adults facing homelessness, Ed stepped in to help found the Mayor's Holiday Rock & Roll Fest - combining his passion for music with his passion for helping the youth in Lowell and Greater Lowell. He brought his band of "rock & roll" friends together to put on a fun-filled Holiday concert and helped raise funds to bring our Youth Service programing to fruition. That Holiday tradition continued with three future Mayors. For this, and for so many other ways he helped our community, we are forever grateful. Our hearts are with Senator Kennedy's family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Every three years, in its capacity as a Community Action Agency, Community Teamwork conducts a Community Needs Assessment to gather information on the causes and conditions of poverty directly from the communities we serve. We use this information to derive the greatest needs facing our community, which in turn drive our Strategic Plan.
