Our Tufts Medicine Care at Home bereavement team hosted the 4th annual Grief in Nature ritual workshop at High Pointe House last month. Through guided activities using earth, wind and water, participants explored healing in the outdoors.

Tufts Medicine Care at Home is proud to award the Lisa Santiago Ventura Memorial Scholarship to Tamara Ayala-Garcia and Abigail Libby, Greater Lawrence Technical School’s Health Careers program graduates.

This annual scholarship honors the memory of Lisa Santiago Ventura, a beloved Care at Home employee whose life was tragically cut short in 1995. Her legacy lives on through students like Tamara and Abigail, pursuing careers in healthcare with passion and purpose.

Tamara will attend Worcester State University to become an Emergency Department RN and hopes to further pursue a career as a Nurse Practitioner. Abigail will study at Endicott College, aspiring to become a NICU RN.

This spring, we wrapped up the first year of Cooking and Eating for One... Together, our grief support workshop series at High Pointe House. 💜

Throughout the year, participants found comfort in shared meals and cooking demos led by hospice volunteer Bill Jacobs. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped build this supportive community around healing and food.

Workshops will resume this fall. We look forward to gathering again.
