Philanthropy powers incredible moments. This Giving Tuesday, we’re sharing stories of the impact your generosity creates.
For children receiving care at home, connection is critical.
Care at Home delivers complex medical care to patients in the comfort of their homes, easing anxiety and improving quality of life. But home-based care can also be isolating. Many children facing serious diagnoses can't attend school or interact with peers, leaving them disconnected during an already difficult time.
Thanks to support from the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation, Care at Home is helping bridge that gap. The Foundation's grant provides interactive gaming devices like Nintendo Switch systems, LeapFrog tablets, PS4 consoles and iPads, each chosen based on the child's age, development and needs.
For immunocompromised children, these devices offer a safe way to stay connected with friends and family. They also give kids a break from focusing on illness and moments to just be kids. As of August 2025, 16 children and their families have received gaming devices. In some cases, siblings have also received devices, recognizing the emotional toll a serious diagnosis can have on the whole family.
For families navigating pediatric home care, these devices represent more than entertainment. They're a lifeline to normalcy, connection and joy during treatment, ensuring children can maintain relationships and childhood experiences even when illness keeps them home.
This Giving Tuesday, please consider a gift to Care at Home to support innovative programs that help our most vulnerable patients heal in the comfort of home. Your gift made by midnight tonight will go twice as far with a generous match!
