We are so grateful to the teachers, dancers and families from Dancenergy in Chelmsford for supporting our pediatric patients! This generous group raised funds to purchase items off our pediatrics department's Amazon wishlist. These items will go a long way in making a hospital stay easier for our littlest patients. We were delighted to receive a surprise donation of 90 gift bags from the River of Divine Mercy Catholic Collaborative. This organization includes the parishes of St. Marguerite d’Youville in Dracut, St. Mary Magdalen in Tyngsboro and St. Rita’s in Lowell. Each bag was filled to the brim with a bunch of goodies including a $5 Dunkin’ gift card, snacks, spa products and a handwritten note and poem. These bags were put together with donations from the Parishes and the 7th and 8th grade students helped fill the bags and write the notes. Karen DiBona from the Parish Office shares “These gift bags are a sign of our church communities’ gratitude to the medical professionals at Lowell General Hospital who cared for our family and friends.” Our staff was so thankful for these awesome treats. Please join us in thanking the River of Divine Mercy Catholic Collaborative for their generosity!

The Kindness Collaborative is a unique charitable organization that empowers and inspires members of local communities to act to support one another. We were touched when the organization’s founder, Alex Bromberg, reached out to us with an offer to support our hardworking staff as they battled the winter COVID-19 surge. The Collaborative partnered with Cobblestones of Lowell to provide an incredible dinner to the Saints Campus Emergency Department team. They also brought along homemade cards with messages of support from local children, which as you can see, put big smiles on the faces of our employees. Thank you to Kindness Collaborative for making this happen! If you or your company are interested in sponsoring a meal or treat delivery for one of our departments, please contact philanthropy@lowellgeneral.org

The MEC Companies have been an incredible partner to Lowell General Hospital for over 15 years. Most recently, MEC was an integral part of the construction of our new behavioral health suite at our Saints Campus. The MEC team became very close to this project and wanted to find a way to support the staff and patients on this unit. They generously organized a supply drive and collected comfort items for patients that will undoubtedly make their hospital stay a little easier. Please join us in extending our deepest thanks to the MEC team for the countless ways they support our hospital!

On we're looking back on Thanksgiving 2021 and remembering the awesome students of the Richardson Middle School in Dracut.
The students took the time to create hundreds of paper Thanksgiving placemats for our patients to enjoy during their hospital stay. This kind gesture brought so many smiles to both patients and staff over the holiday. We love when our community finds creative ways to make our staff and patients smile!

Since the onset of the pandemic, our incredible community has rallied around us and supported us in countless ways. We’ve appreciated getting to know so many new individuals, businesses and community groups who have all been inspired to give back to Lowell General Hospital. Our friends at BAPS Charities were one of the first to respond to the needs of our hospital in the early days of the pandemic. BAPS Charities is a global charity active in nine countries across five continents who aims to express a spirit of selfless service. The local BAPS organization donated critical personal protective equipment as well as made delicious samosas to treat our hardworking staff. Most recently, in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the region, representatives from BAPS presented us with a $2,500 check for COVID-19 Relief. We are so grateful for their generosity and hope you will join us in thanking them for their support.

Meet our four-legged friend, Enzo! Enzo is a two year old Golden Retriever and trained therapy dog who visits hospital twice a week with his owner, Tara Tomany of Groton. When Enzo walks into areas of need such as the Cancer Center or the ICU, he completely lights up the room and makes a difference beyond measure with his cute smile, soulful eyes, and calming presence. Words cannot describe the joy, comfort, and healing Enzo brings to both our patients and staff. He is the highlight of every week!
