Team Seberger

Team Seberger We will keep you up to date on everything going on with the Seberger family This page will keep you informed of any news with Corey and Beth.

Team Seberger has been established and consists of friends and family that have come together to help Corey and Beth overcome the upcoming hurdles they will be facing. Corey was diagnosed with renal failure in 2004 due to high blood pressure as a teen with no other reasons then family history, due to years of wear and tear on his kidneys he was offically put on the donor list in 2008. Beth underwe

nt testing earlier this year to see if she could donate her kidney to Corey, the results came back and she is 98.7% compatable. Now the biggest battle they will face is medical costs that insurance doesnt cover, time off for work and not knowing when a release will come for Corey, and the anti-rejection medicine Corey will have to take for the rest of his life, and of course the risk of rejection after the surgery. Corey and Beth are aware of all the risks and willing to take it on all for the love for there 3yr old daughter Madison. Thank you for your support and welcome to Team Seberger!!!

We are 4 months post Transplant and Corey is doing great! Friday he went to the doctor and they are thrilled with all of his labs, numbers, and progress he has made!
We will be dabbling in the world of infusion based immunosuppressants in the near future, helping the longevity of this kidney! We are all on the same page of keeping this one forever!
Corey is still working on gaining some weight back but it’s not so easy anymore (must be nice) he managed to gain 1/2 a pound in a month so I guess that’s progress. So healthy, I guess his metabolism is like a teen now?!? I don’t know. But all and all we couldn’t be more happy or more thankful for where we are today.

This Saturday is going to be big, HUGE, actually! We are meeting Kat. After all these weeks of messages, and seeing each others lives on social media, we are meeting in person! 🥹😍🥹😍
We are going to dinner with Coreys donor and her husband and I can’t wait to share them with you!!!

Jen and Craig have been reunited for a few hours now, and I am hearing great things!
As a healthy person going in for a surgery, and a pretty major one at that, you will have some discomfort and feeling weak sucks. All around other than that, Craig is doing well, and still has his s***k based off the texts I’m getting from Jen! 😂

We are all so thankful for our prayer warriors!

All of our lives have been forever changed, and our families have grown a few new members!

Craig Day is and was a success!!!
Craig is in recovery and Jen will get to see him soon!
Jen and I have had so many laughs this morning , I really don’t think the waiting room knew what they were in for!
Thank you all so much for your prayers, what an awesome day!

Today is Craig’s Day! That’s what I’ll call January 22nd!!!
So many prayers for Craig, Jen, the Medical Staff at NW, and the lucky person in NC who is about to receive the best gift anyone could give!!!
Kidney donors rock!!!!

Strength in numbers, right?!?
I would like everyone to meet our no longer anonymous donor!
These two have more than bald heads in common! 😂😂
Craig and Jen came over today to shock us with the most amazing news! And now we ask all of you to pray with us and for us. These gentlemen have a few more tests to see through, and that’s where we need you!
Pray for Craig and his family, and please continue to pray for ours!
Today was a great day!!!

2 weeks tomorrow already, and Corey is winning at this post surgery game!
Today he saw his team at Northwestern and everything looks perfect! Balancing the meds via blood draws is maintenance for now. Still weekly visits to Chicago, but that should break up soon. Next week the staples come out and hopefully that healing continues moving forward positively.

Our journey is not over just yet and now, I am asking all of our prayer warriors to mount up again!
Monday our Rockstar friend and reason for our healthy season Craig is going to join me on the wild side and become a living donor!
I need everyone to pray, send good vibes, whatever you’ve got. His amazing wife and 4 girls need him to come out of it as quickly and easily as possible! We know the team of surgeons and medical staff is top notch, but let’s wrap them in prayer also! Craigs kidney will be making its way to someone in NC, let’s pray for safe travels and acceptance on the recipients end. I’ll be back Monday to keep you all posted on him!

Meanwhile…I am pretty sure my feelings of running into “her” in the hallway at the hospital is as real as it gets. NO MORE 12 week wait. The social workers are working on it now!
We think we know each other at this point but we are waiting for the confirmation, which will be our first meeting. The more we text, the more the anticipation builds!
On that note, she is doing great and I can’t wait to introduce her to all the people that prayed not only for her, but for her to come into our lives in such an impactful way!!

This guy over here being super human with his new kidney!
Day 1 at home is going well, I’d say!
Adapting to new norms isn’t easy for any one so I won’t say this is coming without some tears and headache, but all and all I am pretty damn proud of us!!
Tomorrow we finally get rid of the Foley, while he’s over it more than me, I’ll be thrilled when im not having to remember that task!
Can’t wait to see the team tomorrow and them see how great he is doing!

He did it y’all!!! Rang the bell a few months ago after kicking skin cancer to the curb, and he gets a bell for K2 completion!!!
My little bell ringer! Hopefully the last one for many years!!!

Corey you are a rockstar!!!!

Corey kicked me out, told me to go home to our girls and get some sleep.
They took out his dialysis catheter today which means he’s out of that storm completely!! Whoop whoop!
Tomorrow they will take him off of the IVs in the morning and if all goes well, we will be bringing him tomorrow evening!!!!

While it will be 12 weeks before we get to meet her, we did find out that his donor is doing great as well!!

Thank you everyone for praying, sending good vibes, and spoiling our family with love!
Corey says this one is going to get atleast 30 years!!!

Next update should hopefully be breaking this guy out of the hospital!!!

He let me take a picture to show you all how great he’s doing! (Dont let the frowny face fool you, it was early)
He got up faster than the nurse had expected today, she said in the 2.5 years she’s worked here she’s never had someone move as well as he is and with no assistance, just the motivation he needed to hear for sure!!
Waiting on the doctors to visit later this afternoon, but so far we have found that his labs are all trending to where they should, his new kidney did the work and took 8 liters, and put it all back out, he’s getting to have a solid meal for lunch!
If he keeps it up, theres a real chance of being home tomorrow night with our girls!!!

So thankful!!!

01/05/2024

Everything is great, everything is working as it should!
Coreys exhausted as to be expected, but he looks great, already has asked if food is out of the question tonight, and has had to have the bag dumped 3 times since hes been out of recovery. The kidney is doing great, and so is he!

Thank you so much to all of our faithful prayer warriors!!!

About to FaceTime the girls and pass out myself!

01/04/2024

Corey has been moved to recovery. It will be about 2 hours for him in there.

Almost time to see my guy!!!

01/04/2024

Donors surgery was a success and they took our guy to Pre-Op!
I am assuming surgery won’t start for another hour or so. But I’ll be back to tell you all about it soon!!!

01/03/2024

Good Morning to all of our amazing Team Seberger prayer warriors and followers!

Corey is at what should be his last dialysis treatment, and tomorrow is Surgery day!
We are so thankful this day is finally here!

Whole lot of emotions today, 12 years ago even though it was both of us going through it, it seems like it was easier then. Only having Madison and her being 3. Now she is almost 16 and Mackinley almost 11. It’s so much harder on them. Madison is too much like me and just hardens that shell, won’t let it in, won’t let it out. Mackinley, y’all she’s our emotional one, and she has so many feelings it makes it so much harder. Please continue to pray for strength for our girls!!

Corey is doing the best he can with every thought getting louder as the day looms closer. Please continue to pray for him, his surgeons and medical staff, and his donor.

Tomorrow it will be easiest for me to come here and update everyone. Please check the page for updates, and please respect that if you see nothing, just wait and don’t start blowing me up.

January 22nd Craig will be donating his kidney, Craig agreed to Cross Match donation and thanks to that, that is how Corey got a kidney.
Please keep Craig, his wife Jen and the beautiful girls they have in your prayers also.
Craig, you know I can’t thank you enough and no matter how many times I say it, it just feels like it will never be enough!
We are so thankful for you!!!!

See you all back here tomorrow, thank you for praying, thank you for your support, and most importantly thank you for loving my family!!!

Xoxo

Alright, y’all!!!! Transplant Coordinator reached out and everything so far is a “GO” again! Whoop whoop!!
Corey’s heart looks much better than when he was at Mayo and that was the last sign off we needed!!! Awaiting the insurance mumble jumble but we don’t have much fear in that area!
Today he starts his healing of his ear, this skin cancer game was something we knew could inevitably rear its ugly head and it did. Add the chaos of all the other health stuff over the last year, the ear was the least of the concerns as crazy as that sounds. Corey will be starting radiation this week to heal that, and continue for 4-6 weeks pending it’s response, we are super hopeful after meeting with the Oncologist a couple weeks ago.
We ask for continued prayers not just for Corey and our family, but also our Donor and his! We have worked so hard to make it this far, we need to keep everyone safe and healthy as we enter the awesome flu season!
Hopefully our next update with be about our scheduled date!!!!

Wanted to drop a quick update since it’s been awhile.
We have had a wild summer, with a quick trip to Mayo to fix Corey up.
Since being home from Mayo (almost 2 months now) Corey is doing well on dialysis and adapting to that life. He enjoys going to the clinic to get out of the house, and having people to see and interact with. We are so thankful for the people who sent the gifts, the shirts work out so well with treatments and those protector patches give him comfort taking a shower it’s the little things that are big things for us!
He isn’t working anymore and was approved for disability, while we have some time for that to kick in he knows his main and only focus is to get healthy and where he needs to be for transplant. Saturday night we actually had a conversation with the girls, schools about to start and some how one is supposed to focus on Sophmore year and the other 5th grade. There was a promise made about them focusing on school, and him focusing on getting healthy. I know they will hold each other accountable!!

Today we went to the Transplant Clinic and met with one of the doctors Corey has been seeing for many years, he says that transplant is still an option, and still very much on the table. Finally, finally we got to hear those words again! It’s been iffy folks and part of why I’ve been so quiet! So this is fantastic news to us!
Corey has to have an echocardiogram done in the next few weeks and then we should be on our way to finish up the compatibility testing with Craig (our fantastic and selfless Donor) and Corey.
We are asking for continued prayers in all things being a go for these two amazing gentlemen! Craig’s been so patient and we are so thankful for that!!!
Thank you everyone for all of the calls and texts on the regular checking in on him, the girls, and myself we love you all!
