OPEN SKY has 8 licensed massage therapists offering therapeutic, deep tissue, hot stone, relaxation, couples, pregnancy, orthopedic and child massage. Each therapist offers a unique style and specialty to meet the needs of your wellbeing. There are several benefits for receiving massage therapy. Massage therapy reduces levels of the stress hormone “cortisol” while boosting the feel good hormones “serotonin and dopamine.” Those two changes trigger events in our body to affect the following; reduce blood pressure, block pain receptors in nerve ending, increase blood flow to muscles, which helps them heal; relaxes tight muscles and brings forth relaxation for body, mind and spirit. Your therapist will talk with you about areas of concern before each session, to ensure you get the work you need. Megan Kraeger, a Lewis County native, took over ownership of OPEN SKY in July 2017. Megan earned her Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition from New York Chiropractic College in April 2017. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health with a concentration in Administration from SUNY Cortland. Megan is working toward obtaining the Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential, the gold standard for advanced nutrition professionals. Megan is accepting new clients for clinical nutrition services! What to expect: Megan uses a comprehensive approach to address your nutrition related health concerns. She will work with you one-on-one to develop individualized goals and will create a personalized nutrition plan tailored to your needs and lifestyle. Megan uses a holistic nutritional approach to re-balance and restore the body; incorporating nutrients from whole foods, quality supplements, herbal preparations and mindful eating strategies.
Reiki is a Japanese style of healing that helps balance and enhance your energy flow in your body. During a reiki session, you will lay fully clothed on a massage table while the practitioner, Mallory uses light touch or just the close proximity of her hands to balance energy in your body and mind. Reiki is helpful for anxiety, stress relief, sleep disorders, and several other conditions. Reiki is a great choice for you to settle, reset, balance and enhance your energy flow. Mallory also has experience with children- reiki is beneficial for children with ADD/ADHD, inattentiveness, irritability, and emotional issues.
