Micro-focused Ultrasound
(MFU) Face Lift

This new-gen Korean treatment utilizes groundbreaking Microfocused Ultrasound (MFU), a precise medical-grade ultrasound technology designed for non-surgical skin tightening. By stimulating collagen at up to four different layers of the skin, this innovative method penetrates deeply, reaching the SMAS skin layer (the skin layer where traditional face lift is performed) with pinpoint precision for immediate lifting and wrinkle improvements.

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a therapeutic modality that uses ultrasonic waves as an energy source. It conveys high-energy pulses to a spatially coordinated manner, resulting in the increased temperature of the focused target in a non-invasive manner while minimizing damage to surrounding tissue. Initially developed and used for the treatment of brain cancer, prostate cancer, etc., HIFU has widened the application range across dermatologic field for skin lifting due to its non-invasive and targeting nature. The HIFU used for skin lifting is technically known as Micro-focused ultrasound (MFU). MFU uses lower ultrasonic energy compared to typical HIFU and produces heat over 60ºC at the focal point. This leads to thermal coagulation points (TCP), which in turn induces neo-collagenesis and skin lifting.

Is the treatment painful?
This is a comfortable treatment. During the session there is a minimal tingling sensation, will typically last 60 minutes, depending on the size and location of the treatment area.

Is there a downtime after the treatment?
There is no downtime after the treatment, you can return to your normal activities immediately. It is recommended to avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or heat for at least 24 hours after the treatment.

Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine or alcohol for at least 24 hours after the treatment to support the body's natural healing process.

How long does it take to see the results?
The results are progressive and cumulative. You will see an instant lifting effect after the treatment, and progressive improvement over the following 6 weeks.

How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments depends on your skin and the results you are targeting. For best results, we recommend alternating Microfocused Ultrasound (MFU) with RF Microneedling every two weeks.

How do I prepare for my treatment?
Avoid using any topical skincare products that contain active ingredients such as retinoids, alpha or beta hydroxy acids, or vitamin C for at least 24 hours prior to the treatment.
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated in the days leading up to your MFU session to promote healthy skin function.
