Yoga comes from an ancient spiritual tradition rooted in Indian philosophy. That history matters. It deserves respect. When we honor where yoga comes from, we practice with deeper integrity.
At the same time, yoga was never meant for only one group of people. You don’t have to convert, believe in a specific God, or change your faith to practice. You’re simply invited to pay attention—to your breath, your body, your mind, and the deeper awareness within you.
To me, yoga works beneath religion.
It trains presence.
It softens the heart.
It reduces suffering.
It helps us live awake.
That’s why people of every background practice side by side. Not because yoga is empty of meaning—but because its wisdom is universal.
So no… yoga is not a religion.
But it is sacred.
A complete spiritual practice that asks only for sincerity, humility, and respect for the tradition that carried it to us.
